mank1234: I have gone to look at the mk manual again and yes it does combined charging just like GK and even throws more cumulative amps than GK but I still prefer GK especially when comparing the 3kva of both series. The high VOC is sure a good and bad thing with the GK, it's good when you are able to get sufficient Panels array to ensure early wake up and late sleep. Yes the GK does load source combination as well. |

ceaser: Some Chinese close down their shop due to bad reviews only to open another with another name. AE doesn't care. If you do that in places like Amazon, you may be blacklisted. 1 Like |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ClickSis: 4:24am On Jun 24, 2020 |
spartacus11: Using this size of wire for stated installation is a gross overkill. You have to provide your system details like nomimal voltage (12V vs 24V), distance of panels from CC, type of CC (PWM vs MPPT) to get a reliable response. Cheers! 1 Like |

ClickSis:Makeskyblue MPPT 40A or 60A Distance 16 yards or 15 meters it can be less but not more 12v or 24v it can be either |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by essegis(m): 6:39am On Jun 24, 2020 |
spartacus11: See the chart provided. A 10mm wire will carry the amps supply of the panels even if you parallel them with no issues at all.

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mcTrinity(m): 8:50am On Jun 24, 2020 |
spartacus11: For 12V system (panels in parallel), the 10mm is the required cable For 24V system (panels in series), even a 4mm cable can serve. But use 6mm Both cases are at 5% loss Cheers |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ClickSis: 9:41am On Jun 24, 2020 |
mcTrinity: Connecting the panels in series (provided there will not be a challenge from shades) will considerably reduce the wire size since he's using an MPPT CC. Just to mention also that 6mm is about half the cost of 10mm |

Good morning all, pls help me make a decision. I am planning to get 600W monocrystalline solar panel latest next week as soon as the inter-state lockdown is lifted. I have a 24V system with an in-built charge controller whose maximum solar array is 600W and based on my research, I have narrowed down my choice to two products : 1. 3 numbers of 200W Yinglin or 2. 2 numbers of 300W Canadian solar panel Pls advice on the better choice, thanks in anticipation. |

mcTrinity: Thanks a lot. I have a question Parallel (More Amps) Series (More Volts) What is the advantages of having lesser Amp with more Volts (Panel Series) connection And what is also the advantages of having more Amps with lets Volts (Panel Parallel) connection Or they are actually no different if i am using MPPT charge controller Throw some insight on it please CC essegis ClickSis |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by earthrealm(m): 3:18pm On Jun 24, 2020 |
spartacus11: At higher volts..smaller current flows tru the cable...and vice versa....so sending at higher volts enables you use thinner wire.. Same principle why nepa transmits at high tension/voltage, we have 33,000volts, and higher for the national grid.this way immense amount of power is transmitted at negligible losses at extremely high voltages, which is now gradually stepped down at or close to consumption areas. Those giant pylons carry 132,000volts if not higher Morning star 60amps pwm cc cost 198 dollars, same morning star 60amps mppt cost 600usd. The Pwm operates at about 60v max. The Mppt operates at 150v max. The extra 400usd in cost is basically cos of this flexibilty in max input viltage ![]() For solar calculations, using 3% loss and lower is a preffered optimal design factor than 5% 4 Likes |

Oshomo12: I activated an hour long double 29.4v equalisation with 30min interval on an LFP, so I guess the BMS surged at some point and that affected the inverter. At that time, I didn't know an LFP does not need equalisation(a rapid one for that matter). That's my rough guess on what may have happened. |
