A 7.4 magnitude earthquake occurred Tuesday along the southern coastline of Mexico.

The earthquake occurred at 10:29 a.m. local time (11:29 a.m. ET), with an epicenter located 11 kilometers southwest of Santa María Zapotitlán in Oaxaca state.

Earlier estimates put the magnitude of the earthquake at 7.7, but that has been revised down to 7.4 (and additional revisions are possible).

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said that hazardous tsunami waves are possible within 1,000 kilometers of the epicenter, including along the coasts of Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

Natural disasters are possible here. Today we have flooding and erosion here and there, and our leaders refuse to take them seriously.

I keep wondering what it would be like when earthquakes, tsunami, tornadoes would start occurring frequently here.

We are not lucky ooh... Only that it's not yet our turn.

We are just lucky in this part of the world, they have natural disasters there, while we have corrupt and selfish leaders here, I don't even want to mention Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen, bandits or iswap, etc.

I just thank God say we no get catastrophic natural disasters like this in Africa generally and Nigeria specifically.

May God be with the victims, thank God Nigeria don't experience such disaster we are not prepared for this.

I think the leadership disaster we have in Nigeria is worse than this earthquake we hear about.
