As an Igbo man, I feel bad saying this, we as a people need to show resolve and commitment towards the Fulani herdsmen menace.
Yorubas are doing something and their efforts are yielding positive results.

Read where farmers were advised not to resort to self help but instead to alert appropriate authority (Amotekun). The Fulanis would always attempt to intimidate the locals. The Yorubas retreated and confronted them with Amotekun.

Similar incident in the SE resulted in the death of a man. Here the locals were frustrated because the government and police are ineffective. The man who was killed probably was the one who led the group of locals confronting the fulanis with nothing!.

Ohaneze has told Igbos to protect themselves! I can’t believe they came up with that...with what??. Fulanis are not ghosts. They might have the backing of the federal govt and the armed forces and police but any day the people/ south east governors/politicians decide to end it, it will end. What we are witnessing is a lack of willpower and lack of vision to end a deadly pathology that is threatening us.

Fulanis have their vigilante guards all over Nigeria. The south west have decided not to tolerate their rubbish and its working. Others should do the same.

Let south east politicians think and act, there are more than enough youths deadlier than them and ever willing to do the job. These youths can’t go at it individually and it’s wrong to ask people to defend themselves. That’s not right.

A man was seen on video being threatened by a Fulani boy. He not only threatened to use the police on him, he also threatened to kill him...in his own farm and backyard!! Isn’t that sacrilege?..and we are gradually accepting these anomalies as normal!!!.

The 65 year old man was killed and all Ohaneze would say was for the locals to defend themselves!
Ugwuanyi, Obiano, Umahi etc seat up and protect lives. They have killed, polluted our lands and insulted our tradition and culture and we are doing nothing except ask people to protect themselves.

No live was lost during the incident. Amotekun should be praised for standing toe to toe with these evil men. Fulanis are well armed but they are also very vulnerable. All bullies are if you know their tactics, psychology and where to hit them.
Their modus operandi is always to occupy other people’s lands, wait for them to react, shoot to scare them, kill one or two persons with their weapons then cut and slice the back of their heads to send a strong message.

They can be defeated and dealt everlasting blows from Nigeria to the deserts of Mali and Guinea if the people are resolved.

Amotekun did the right thing keeping their animals. They will always come back for them after exhausting their connections with the police/army and federal government.

For that I say welldone to Amotekun and those who initiated it.
