I don't think that southern unity is possible anymore. Awolowo was even ready to serve as a minister under Zik, but on two occasions, Zik preferred to pitch his tent with the north. The narrative is yet to change for the better. Till tomorrow, the Igbo would rather support the Fulani(who see them as an abomination) than join the rest of the south. You can castigate the Yorubas all you want, but truth is they have no permanent allies. If it is an Ibibio man from the Niger Delta that can serve their interest, they will give him massive support. The south has no qualms forming a coalition, but the two elephants (Yorubas & Igbos) are still fighting.
