Nigeria embassies overseas do not care about the Nigerians in the country they are. They only care to extort and steal.

Embassies in other countries lookout for their citizens. Nigeria embassy do not care. If you ask them, they will say they did not ask the Nigerians to travel there.

Take for instance how Nigeria charged her citizens to evacuate them during covid 19. Nigeria is the only country worldwide that forced her citizens to pay for their own evacuation flight.

Being a Nigerian is sad on all levels

Stop saying what u don't know. The USA flights were paid for by their citizens!

Some of you just post TRASH for your fellow gullible miscreants.

The US charged between 1800 to 2400 dollars to evacuate their citizens, the UK charged it's citizens 520 Pounds for their evacuation from Nigeria.
Nigeria charged her citizens 425 pounds to evacuate them from the UK then lodged them for FREE for 14 DAYS at a 4 Start hotel in Abuja.
The US evacuation flies you from Lagos to Washington DC and that's it. You have to find your way home from there.
The Nigerian govt provided much cheaper and better evacuation to her citizens than even countries that have way more money than the Nigerian govt.
It was much later that the Nigerian govt said that people coming in through evacuations have to pay for their own hotels. All the evacuations from UK, US and others were put into nice hotels in Abuja with the govt bearing the cost.

PURE TRASH RUBBISH.

You are an ignoramus.

The British government requested payment from their citizens to be evacuated during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Writing rubbish with confidence is one of the hallmarks of dumb people.

Don't mind the blind fool. I'm a US Citizen hence I get all updates on possible evacuations on weekly basis. The ones that left earlier had to sign a promissory note to pay for their flights. If you don't pay, you will not be able to renew your passport once it expires. We have been told that there are no other flight planned but should they come, the cost is about 2400 Dollars per person.
In fact couple of weeks ago, they tried to even charge more by arranging with the South Korean embassy asking people desperate to pay $2900. They eventually cancelled the flight when most didn't buy the trash. This one, you have to pay upfront.

See the email that was sent to me regarding the flight below.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) has organized a possible repatriation flight through QATAR AIRWAYS for its citizens on Sunday, May 31, from both Abuja and Lagos through Doha, Qatar. The South Korean government is offering available seats to U.S. citizens. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Please note the flight will only depart if a minimum number of seats are filled.

The RESERVATION DEADLINE is Thursday, May 28, at 10:00 AM. See details below.

Date of Departure: Sunday, May 31.

Destination: Doha, Qatar.

Connections to U.S.: There will be connections from Doha to Chicago and Los Angeles. Passengers will have an eight-hour layover in Doha.

Price: Approximately $2,900. This is the total cost from Abuja or Lagos, to Doha, to Chicago or L.A.

All travelers are responsible for arranging and funding travel from Lagos to their final destination.

For you to benefit from the stimulus package you must have paid your personal income tax for the year preceding.

I know US citizens in CIV had to pay to be flown back to DC. From DC, they had to find their square root.
It’s also a fact that Nigerian embassies don’t care about Nigerians as much as they should. Even the current Oba of Benin was Nigerian Ambassador in Rome yet Nigerian women are still being exploited and forced into prostitution in Europe. Nigeria is too corrupt and divided to do things the right way. Let’s be honest. Other countries protect their citizens even when their citizens violate laws. They ensure their citizens are treated fairly.

Who told you that? It's only taxpayers that got the cheques. Those away from the country definitely did not pay any taxes in recent history and hence are not eligible for the palliative funds

No Sir, if you go earlier they will turn you back on the same excuse .... I knew a man here that wanted to do same last year the same excuse was giving to him having 8 months left on his passport ..... BTW you are always told to have at least 6 months left on your passport before it expires when leaving your native country NOT when you are residing in a country already.

I was turned back having more than 6 months left on my passport.

Just as you said, that is the policy and I had to adhere by it.
