Take for instance how Nigeria charged her citizens to evacuate them during covid 19. Nigeria is the only country worldwide that forced her citizens to pay for their own evacuation flight.

The above is not true. The US embassy in Nigeria charged her citizens for the repatriation flight to the US. The cost was even more than you would normally pay for such flight.

But seriously, why do you expect the country to pay for your flight back?

Nigeria embassies overseas do not care about the Nigerians in the country they are. They only care to extort and steal.

Embassies in other countries lookout for their citizens. Nigeria embassy do not care. If you ask them, they will say they did not ask the Nigerians to travel there.

Being a Nigerian is sad on all levels

Nigeria is not the only country that charges for evacuation charges bros.

I was turned back having more than 6 months left on my passport.

Just as you said, that is the policy and I had to adhere by it.

Don't qoute me to cover incompetence of the Buhari and APC Cow Government...... My own passport was and still remains less 4 months to expires .... Now I will be coming home immediately after the lockdown to renew in Nigeria because it's faster .... Because with big leg and money you will get it done within 24 hours ... Now tell me if I can't come home or due financial issue or due to paper work , what will be my fate over here....

P.s

Your passport must be valid at least 6 months months before leaving your native country not when you are residing in a country already.

I know what I am saying.

This is not incompetence but the policy.

I myself had to leave for Nigeria because it was going to be quicker to obtain one there.

It is the same worldwide.

Passports are easier obtained in country of citizenship.

If you are a legal resident of a foreign country and you an issue, you can approach the embassy, although there are lots of bureaucracy. But at least you still have a case. We don't need to assume.

To be honest, Jakarta is an incredible city that offers lots of opportunities if we do honest jobs. The minimum wage for unskilled employee is around USD 304 a month, while the average salary for experienced workers there are around USD 985 monthly. In 2019, per capita income of Jakarta stood at USD 17.374. It hosts five unicorn companies, while the whole Africa continent only has two unicorn companies which all of them owned by South African.

It is classified by GaWC as an Alpha city, while no other African cities put in the same category. Even Johannesburg is listed as an Alpha - city only, a notch below Jakarta.

It has so much potential to be the next Asian giant. Economically, it has already been bigger than Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. It can beat Singapore in the foreseeable future if it can maintain its rapid growth.

Nonsense!

Many countries asked their citizens to pay for their evacuation. Even the UK!
