agric would only feed us but not pay us. Their are so minerals that are untapped. That's why the Chinese are mining through the backdoor
So you won't pay the people feeding you abi? Stay there and be deceiving yourself, the market demand for fish alone can't even be satisfied

why is engineering useless

Do you know any practicing Nigerian engineer, not a lecturer or a technician, an actual engineer, I studied Electrical Engineering, and I can tell you PHCN/NEPA has not employed a Nigerian Engineer to occupy the same role since the 70s, 99% of companies in Nigeria who employ engineers employ them as technicians.

Bros na you open jamb change of institution and course portal? Please endeavor to get your facts right before putting it out in public. A lot of us have been trying to change our institution and course, but the lousy jamb people keep telling us that "the service is not available". Or perhaps i am wrong, and you know of someone who has carried out the procedure successfully.

Don't worry, after reading the biochem you will still join us here and be blaming politicians grin If you don't find a way to leave this country, you're doomed. I still got friends that are regretting studying biochemistry, some have even given up and ventured into other businesses, 4 years wasted

I mean we cannot build our economy outside oil on agriculture. The world has moved beyond that. Even Israel which has the biggest agric enterprise depend on ICT, Malaysia still depend on oil. Market for fish that is persihable? I hope you know most of what is produced is wasted due to lack of electricity

you see you have to blame them. Ministry would give billions to hire biochem to solve a problem. One man will pocket the money and throw you guys into the labour market. In the west they would bring money and hire you guys for 3 years to solve the same problem. When they are done they ship the product to Africa and get their money back.

I said market demand not market supplied, people are always looking for fish....and that your analysis on wastage is false, electricity is not the only means to preserve fish. Any professional fish farmer won't be limited by lack of electricity

oga accept it. U are grossly ignorant. I am a poultry farmer. I really wish I had more knowledge. Probably if I had trained as one, I would be more knowledgeable. One of my kids would definitely study veterinary medicine

Vet medicine in Nigeria!!! that course is useless, painful thing is they still spend 6 years like medicine and surgery.

So have you now seen why biochem is stupid in Nigeria? What use is studying a course if after everything the government will use you to play politics

yea they are many of them in oil industry. The oil industry is the highest employer of Engineers in Nigeria. In the power sector there are engineers as well but corruption there is too much. The oyibo contractors downgrade our engineers to technicians because they feel we are not capable. Just like what is happening in Dangote refinery

Run away from Life sciences, Nigeria is not developed enough for those courses. Courses like biochemistry, microbiology. And others like Physiology, Anatomy and so. They are wash

Ps: please I'm in need of a job.

Just finished NYSC, I have a B.Tech in biochemistry. I'm 24 years old, smart and tech savy. Computer skills, HSE1,2&3, Excel, PowerPoint, baby programmer (Python), Adobe Pr, Adobe Ae. All in the my bag

Also good with analytical tasks and some experience as a project manager.

Kindly link me up with opportunities. I'm looking for any challenging opportunity to learn and grow while contributing my best.

Thank you, God bless.

Is there a kind of girls you would advise a guy not to marry??

When those girls don't marry, who would take care of them when they get older??

All courses are good. Nairaland wouldn't be responsible for the scarcity of students in a departement /faculty.

You know that one doesn't need to Marry to have a Care taker at Old age.

Matter of fact, Your Partner's life or Support at Old age is not guaranteed.

That is precisely what I am saying, they can get employed, but as technicians, pay might be good, but it sucks.

Engineering courses as well as Geology are among fields that will differentiate you from your mates when you graduate. Opportunities abound for you here in Nigeria and abroad. With engineering background, you can easily fit in other professions seamlessly without limitations.
