Disclaimer: I am not in anyway a marketer of any device. this is simply my ordeal with an infinix smartphone.

I am a big time Samsung user but i decided to give infinix a trial. In October 2017 i purchased an Infinix hot 4 Pro for N43,500 from slot and it was my first infinix device actually, I wanted to give the device a trial so i was actually excited.
The first 10 months of the device was smooth, everything was fine as expected. One faithful day the phone slipped from my pocket and fell, I picked up the device and the screen went blank. there was no scratch whatsoever, the screen just didn't turn on, the phone was still under warranty but i was told warranty doesn't cover physical damage, I made them understand the screen went blank and there was no scratch but they insisted. I fixed the screen for N15,000. barely 6 months after, the screen went partially blind again. This time i was told the only way was to replace the screen again, I did replace it for an additional N15,000 in mid 2018.

I further had no issues with the device after the second screen was installed. sometime in late 2018, I woke up to a blind screen again, this time around i wondered wtf was going on is something wrong with the panel itself?? I took it to ikeja and met an engineer that told me the panel was getting faulty already, but for the mean time i needed to change the screen again if I'm to continue using the device. I thought to myself will i throw away the device after all I've spent?? I decided to replace it for the third time. this time the engineer felt pity and charged me N12,000.

I fixed the screen again, highly frustrated and swore never to use an inifinix phone ever again. I got home to play music from my phone and discovered the speaker wasn't responding anymore and only little could be heard from the earpiece. I got extremely angry and decided not to fix the speaker. I could live without hearing sounds from the stupid phone after all. so i used the phone for a while without fixing the defective speaker. after a long while, the right keys began to harden. the volume up and down keys, power keys became really hard and you need a great deal of strength to press it. I couldn't cope with this cus it was aching my thumb already. I took it out for a fix and was told the flex needed replacement. I replaced the flex for a total of N3,500. I used that opportunity to enquire about how much replacing the speaker would cost as well. he told me N2500. i laughed and insisted i won't be fixing the damn speaker. I woke up one day lo and behold the speaker was actually working again. I dunno what went wrong but it was working again. grin

After more than 2 years with the device, I only received one major android update to 7.0 i wasn't surprised about that actually being it was infinix a mid range phone. the camera deteriorate in quality and i wondered why, as days go by the camera became extremely poor. camera has not always been a stronghold on the phone but it was worse now.

and now in 2020, I gave the phone to my baby sis to use for playing mild games like talking Angela and the rest. I've returned back to Samsung which has been the best I've ever used. No cap Samsung phone are really the best if you want peace of mind. I now use one of the new S20 series and i can live in peace once again. Back to infinix story, My sister now reports to me about how the phone goes off automatically when it hits 19%. sometimes it starts counting down in seconds when it manages to hit 15%. now the phone's lowest battery state is 15% after that, it automatically goes off due to low battery.

I bought the phone for N43,500 but i spent N45,500 on repairs only almost every month. This shouldn't happen to anyone! This happens to be the worst phone I've ever used and I'll never recommend any sort of infinix smartphone to anyone looking to buy a good phone. unless you're buying just to make calls only (who would buy a smartphone for that purpose only tho?)

So ladies and gentlemen, that's my story with an infinix device. I also experienced a lot of frustration which wasn't hardware related. the phone is blazing hot when little task is thrown at it, it reboots itself everytime and it hangs like forever. As at 2017 Hot 4 Pro was probably the best they had to offer to the market. So i believe it should at least really live up to the expectations. I wasn't expecting a flagship experience though but at least the performance was below average IMO.

OK, the them you told was where ? Carl care or where exactly because if it was indeed Carl care you won't have been charged again for the second time again especially you mentioning subsequent detects was said to be the screen itself being bad.

Worst case scenario a swap will have been done so you mentioning you paid up to three times to fix the sane issue from sounds weird to be honest.
I hope you understand me.

True dey give no value for money bt d issue of screens could ve happened to any brand. Besides although ur story might be true its a lil exxagerated. Who spends 48k repairing a phone of 43k? Why nt sell it den get anoda? Or even swap d fone?

Most people use techno/infinix phones not because they want to, but because the phones are affordable. You are right about Samsung phones being topnotch. The only downside to using Samsung phones boils down to the screen.

This is where Nigerians are getting it all wrong

Most Nigerians are not tech literate enough to compare their spec's to their prices, cos if they do they will never call these Brand's "affordable" but rather use the right words "RIPPERS"

Sorry ma'am, but you have been deceived all these while.

Here are few reasons

5 camera's on the spark 5 that comes with helio A22 how's that possible?

Other brands unlike the so called affordable spark 5 retail A22 Chip devices far below 50-60k i.e umidigi A3x for 31k(solely because of the naira depreciation, it was initially sold for 26k) mind you, the spark 5 retails for 50-65k (affordable my ass)

Have you ever wondered why they keep churning out new phones every 4 or 5 months? Let me tell you why

There are no update on Android version, which means you would be stocked on Android 10 even when Android 13 comes out

Telling you indirectly that you should get their latest devices with Android 13 to make it mouth watering, they add high battery mAh, increase the camera pixel (actually always a lie, that why the camera quality always depreciate after some months of use), increase the RAM and ROM to tempt you

Have you ever wondered why

Tecno spark 2 with Helio A22 ==>36k

Tecno spark 3 with helio A22 ==> 39k

Tecno spark 4 with Helio A22 ==> 43k

Tecno spark 5 with same Helio A22 ==> 50-65k

They're all Helio A22 devices, but tecno keep adding battery mah, camera pixel(which is a obvious scam) and slapping rediculous prices on them mind you, with Helio A22, they all have the same performance

My post is long, but just read them

And I have More reasons but if I state them here, it will enter the next page

To the average Nigerian, affordability boils down to price solely and not specs. I made my point in light of this group of people and nothing personal. I know my onions when it comes to mobile devices so you don't have to relate your write up to me sir.

Price yes, but it's a known fact that the average Nigerian which of course are majorly technically handicapped jugde their prices based on 2013-2015 achievements

You would agree with me that obviously that has greatly changed, well reasons because of the high rates of tech illiteracy in Nigerians who judge them based on what they did 2013 to 2015 (truth be told tecno were affordable those years, and so earned the trust of these hardworking innocent people) and now they take this same people for fool's because they have put their trust on tecno

So don't say price, but rather Nigerians been deceived cheesy

Too bad for infinix, my phone has been with my friend and engineer for up to a month now, as he dey revive the phone the phone go still bring another issue.

On the issue of carl care those guys in that office knows very little their knowledge is exaggerated, i met a guy with my friend (a phone repairer) the guy was angry cos those carl care didnt repair his phone well. So it's better to take your phone to a trusted and skilled engineer rather than those quacks in carl care office.

Stanl3y the screen going off might not be as a result of bad screen it happened to my phone too when the screen was changed the screen will go blank, i took it to an repairer and he said i will change the screen thank God i didnt change the screen i would have waisted the money. It was my friend that collected the phone then repaired it, he told me there is/are some IC beneath the phone screen (i dont know the area anyways) that touches each other and when they do it will make the screen go off.
