he put a Midwestern man in charge. Who should he put incharge? An American?

We are not to stay together because the fulanis and the igbos will never change. You guys keep shooting yourselves in the foot. He also put a yoruba man incharge of the force to liberate the west. That shows you that his aim is southern liberation.
As far as yorubas think like you, the power of the north will keep growing

He put Banjo because he was simply the best man.Why didn't he put a Mid westerner to liberate Mid west?

If we want to be ready, not a call from Kanu...

Never, Kanu already cut the rope.... Probably sumone with sense not Kanu... So u think after all what he said, yorubas and SS will follow Kanu call of break away.. Nva

Nk Don spoil matter
when, how or why you would be really for independence is non of my business. Kanu doesn't include your people in his plans. As far as he is concerned you guys can marry the north. He only includes ss and even that is annoying many of us. What becomes of yorubas should never be the concern of an igbo man henceforth. We have learnt our lessons bitterly

actually Wales and England are still together and as for Ireland, they not only abused England before breaking away...they were involved in terrorism...using suicide bombers for years. Almost 50 years before UK let them go.
There is no country that has broken up peaceful since 1900. Scotland didn't break from UK and Catalonia didn't break from Spain...those are the two examples of people who tried the peaceful approach

U r being emotional now..... But SW never claimed SS even though Two south south were formerly western region..

Why is SE clamoring for SS when SS have rejected SE and want to be left alone?

Kanu interfered with yorubas when he started insulting us..... So we are in this mess together

whether we claim SS or not should not be your concern. As far as we don't claim you. At least SS was part of the first Biafra and the last president of Biafra was a SS man.
You guys insult us everyday so don't worry about that. We just have thicker skin to absorb your insult than you fragile people

it's a good thing that they can speak for themselves... and since 1979 that have been rejecting yoruba candidates with their votes. That must hurt since you consider them brothers

Banjo the only warrior in Biafra was killed together with 3 Igbo cowards just because Ojukwu was afraid of his own shadows.Ojukwu, the coward did not fight any war and when he heard the footsteps of the Scorpion,he dressed up like a prostitute and fled to Ivory Coast. The legendary Coward grin

And for your information,Ojukwu was a true Igboman as fleeing is in Igbo people's DNA.

Read this...

Another Nigerian force headed south from Auchi towards Benin, as Benjamin Adekunle's 3rd Marine Commando division landed at Warri and promptly took Ughelli and Sapele. Benin was liberated in a three pronged attack from North, West and South which met little resistance. Biafran troops that were able to retreat fled across the Niger River Bridge into Biafra, destroying it afterwards. Those that were cut off abandoned their weaponry and uniforms and blended into the civilian population until it was safe to return east. grin

Banjo who was wiser than Ojukwu told him to put a native Mid Westerner but the Ojukwu Coward was full o himself:
Read:

Plans were drawn for the 12th Battalion to continue its advance towards Lagos and Ibadan. However, it was cripplingly delayed due to arguments between Ojukwu and Victor Banjo on whom to appoint as governor of the Mid-West. Giving enough time for Gowon to assemble a defensive line in the west. Also, during the occupation there was widespread hostility between native Urhobo-Isoko, Ijoid and Itsekiri people against the occupying Igbo soldiers. Igbo and native militia groups launched hit and run and reprisal raids against each other. In an attempt to ease tension, Ojukwu proclaimed the Republic of Benin (1967) under governor Albert Okonkwo on September 19. Only for Nigerian troops to enter Benin the next day on the 20th, ending the new republic's 24 hour span.

These Yeasteners don't read or are incapable of logical reasoning.

This letter itself shows the arrogance and condescension of Ojukwu and his Biafra projects towards other ethnic groups in Nigeria.

If I were you, I would not rush to post this letter here. It is a further indictment on your ill-fated Biafra leader.

Ojukwu letter expose Why south south are distancing themselves from Biafra

so Biafra will appoint military Governor in Yoruba land? but this Hausa/Fulani you called Yoruba master appoint military Governor in directive with federal republic of Nigeria constitution

on what documentary ground does Ojukwu want to appoint governor for the Yoruba people

thunder continue to strike Banjo for being dumb and God bless all the Yoruba and Hausa combinations for stopping Banjo and his shortsighted Yoruba gang of soldiers

Yoruba and Hausa political relationship had place them high on national political ground, how did Hausa appoint OBJ as president? Obj presidency was an atonement for the annulment of June 12, 1993.

you need to get your fact right kids, not everyone here are jambites

Ojukwu never said anything about appointing an administrator in Yoruba land. What he said was appointing an administrator for Lagos, which was at the time the federal capital territory and separate administrative unit from the Western Region. He also went to say that it was temporary until Lagos was merged with the Western Region.

Compare that to the Northerners who went to Ibadan and murdered the Governor of the Western Region, Lt Col Fajuyi, the went to Lagos where they drove away Brigadier Ogundipe who should have been the next President of Nigeria after Ironsi. Fajuyi and Ogundipe were both Yoruba men. The North literally imprisoned Yorubas in their own land and Yorubas did absolutely nothing but bow to them in slavery. So when Victor Banjo was leading a liberation force to rescue them fr9m the clutches of the North , Yorubas fought that liberation force at Ore so as to solidify their position as Northern slaves, very unfortunate.

Ojukwu saw Nigeria 4wat it truly was,&would forever be. One country under one Region, the North. He did his best to liberate Southern Nigeria. He declared Biafra, he declared an independent Midwest. Probably him or Banjo would have declared an independent Western Region or Oduduwa Republic. Unfortunately, Yorubas were too wrapped up in their slavery 2d North that d idea of being their own masters was not something they could even think about. A typical example of this is that June 12th is more importt to d average Yoruba man than Oduduwa Republic. Ojukwu meant well, he meant freedom. All others preferred slavery
