#Opinion I have tried to pray on my own without praying in the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues), the longest I could pray was 30 mins. As a believer, if you really want to pray with understanding and stay long in prayers - involve the Holy Spirit to enable you pray in Tongues.... Happy Sunday |

HembaqMbk: First and foremost, not everyone who is Born Again can speak in tongues.  Second, what do you mean by understanding when praying in a foreign tongue, and without interpretation available to you when you desire it? Why do you need to "stay long in prayer" when the same God also gives answers 2 second prayers , and desires unuttered? |

HembaqMbk:Praying in tongues is not the same as praying in the Holy Spirit. It is praying with the spirit ! (Note the small letters) 1Cor 14:14-15: "For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit , and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." Praying IN the Holy Spirit encompass all kinds of prayer while praying WITH the spirit is praying in tongues and this may or not be prayer in the HOLY Spirit. They are two completely different things Any kind of prayer (including praying in tongues or with understanding) not done in the Holy Spirit is a FAKE prayer. Eph 6:18: "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit , and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" Praying in tongues not done in the Spirit is mere babbling. Rom 8:26-27: "Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit , because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God." There is a difference between spirit (human spirit) and Spirit (Holy Spirit) in the bible. I hope this is clear |

HembaqMbk:That you ain't able to do it don't mean no one else can. Before the manifestation of spoken tongues in my life, i used to pray for hours upon hours...There was a time I prayed for 9 hours 30 minutes. It's not by power not by might but the Spirit of God that made it possible. Although speaking in tongues also impacted my prayer life positively and made praying more effortless for me, my prayer life was not doing badly beforehand. |

HembaqMbk:When the Spirit of God prays for you, you don't have control and you certainly don't tell Him how long it will last. He could do it for 2 minutes or 3 hours, depending on what He desires. Also, there is no understanding to be had since He does it through groaning that is without words of any kind. |

HembaqMbk: Why do you guys like to do vanities and nothingnesses, then you would come and say that God does not answer prayers or that God does not exist, yet you do vanities and expect to get results for doing vanities. Did you not hear? Matthew 6:7 7 But when ye pray, use not[b]vain repetitions[/b], as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Do you need to talk to your father for I Hour? or Shall you speak to your father in a foreign language or tongue, instead of the regular tongue you use for your normal conversation as you usually do? And do you not know that prayer is meant for for you to have a Meeting with God? If the meeting is empty, would you have had a meeting?  , oh, a meeting with yourself!And then you expect that a meeting, you held with yourself, the resolutions and prayers in that meeting shall be answered by Someone Who is Not in That Meeting? Never! You are the one who held that meeting for yourself and prayed to yourself for yourself to answer the prayers you prayed. So, go on, go and answer your own prayer! After all, you can answer your own prayer. |
