Fariq:Waste. Like Kaduna Refinery pipelines from the south. Like building NITEL Digital Exchanges first in northern little towns but have moribund analog exchanges in huge southern cities, Kaduna Refinery died. NITEL died. This one will also die. PMB sees himself as Othman Danfodio of Nigeria in the 21st Century. He wasted scarce funds on projects that cannot pass the test in normal governments. |

quentin06:we have oil in bauchi state state We have oil in lake Chad... The north is filled with untapped resources There's nothing bad if we reserve our own oil for Future use... And keep enjoying the oil from Niger Delta since Nigeria is at the verge of collapse Our groundnut money was used to discover the oil... Our groundnut money was used to develop Nigeria before the discovery of oil in Niger Delta So shut up!! And allow us to enjoy the fruit of our labour. Igbo land is contributing nothing to our national pause. You people are parasites that have been benefiting from both the Niger Delta and the north. Free your mind from hatred and continue enjoying oil from Niger Delta and agro produce from the north. |

Ajaokuta-Kaduna gas pipeline? Instead of saying the truth: gas pipeline from the south to the north of Nigeria and to Arabic countries. Una go tire with Taqqiya. Nigeria moving round circles. |

Reading through the comments on the thread, the thing I see here is bitterness, bitterness, and bitterness. Honestly, I really don't want to say anything, because if one calls people out on their bitterness, one would be accused of things that he or she is not supporting. All I'll say is this. All those condemning the project, don't cut your nose to spite your face. This is a good project by an otherwise incomeptent government, and as such, let's hail them for it. I did not like GEJ much, but when he was doing things like almajiri school, railways, and even privatising power, I made sure I hailed him. Likewise for Buhari. The problem this thread shows is one of the side effects of democracy, and no it is not isolated to Nigeria. Check out UK and US political threads, and if you see the bitterness towards Johnson and Trump, you will wonder if the commentors are aware they are in a democracy. For the last time. Buhari won twice. I don't like it, infact, since democracy came to Nigeria, none of the governments have been to my taste. Infact, I have refused to vote for PDP or APC out of priniciple, and inasmuch as in 2015 I wanted PDP out, was dissapointed somewhat that APC chose a former ruler as its candidate...as if there weren't any intelligent others, even from the North. But if I allowed my anger to dominate me, I honestly won't sleep, and I would get very sick. And to be honest as a Southerner, I am tired of Southerners blaming the North for our underdevelopment. Nothing is stopping us from putting fire on the legs of our leaders at all stages to get us developed. Nothing is stopping us from making sure our region is investor friendly (and yes, we shout at North for Boko...whereas in the SOuth, a guy who came home from abroad with money to invest was kidnapped and nearly killed by his own kinsmen, not by fulani herdsmen, his own people)...but we won't do that. Instead, we vote for leaders who give us ourdaily bread, and then go home and forget about development. Then we cry that Dangote is not building refinery in our area. I've seen many people yarn about 'we don't have power'. When in the SOuth (and North for that matter) most of us don't pay our power bills. Which investor is going to come and invest in a region where he or she is not sure of getting money. Besides, this pipeline project , was actually an initative of GEJ. And as someone has said upthread, if the thing works, we get direct access to European Markets, we earn billions more for the exchequer, the gas producing areas get more money as per derivaiton, and we get more jobs, and hopefully more power to power our economy. Maybe every part of Nigeria becomes productive, and then we can safely talk about dismembering the country, since no one would be 'reliant on oil' The sad thing about Nigerians is that we are so bitter. Yes, we have a right to be bitter, but there is a time when bitterness becomes counterproductive. |

adecz:You are just ignorant. Google BUA Cement founded by Abdulsamad Rabiu. It's founder is a Forbes Billionaire and one of the richest Africans alive, and his billions of $$$ came from CEMENT which is manufactured from Limestone found in his factories in Kalambaina, Sokoto among other places. In fact just this year alone, he has more than tripled his networth by acquiring the Sokoto Cement Company (CCNN) and has built 2 production trains and is about completing the third. He made $650 million dollars from that Sokoto acquisition alone and is now worth $3.1 Billion USD thanks to our blessed land. https://businesselitesafrica.com/trending/bua-cement-ceo-abdulsamad-rabiu-becomes-8th-richest-man-in-africa/ Stop advertising your ignorance with pride.

He made his money in Okpella in Edo State & Lagos which are all in southern Nigeria. It is those monies he made in southern Nigeria he is using to expand in the North. Show me any northerner who has made his money from resources in northern Nigeria . Again, no south, no rich northerner!!

Where do you think the limestone comes from (assuming you know what it is & its core use in cement production) ?Is Sokoto in the South? Obajana? Okpella is just ONE of his factories. Do you even know Sokoto has been producing cement since the 70's? Did he triple his networth to $3.1b from Edo or his acquisition of Sokoto Cement Company? Can you see why I emphasise you're ignorant and lack capacity to properly discuss the topic at hand? Stop exposing the limits of your comprehension with glee, you're however free to wallow alone in the depths of your delusion.

27Pushing30:It is not your opinion but the truth. When Jonathan initiated the project in 2013, it was a private public basis. The tender for investment failed. 614 kilometres for a start, the cost benefit analysis failed. Rate of return on investment - failed. Contrary to what they are saying, this project is being guaranteed by loan from China. Nigeria would provide a sovereign guarantee for 85% of the pipeline’s cost. The AKK link will cost a total of $2.59 billion, with the guarantee to be funded by China’s Sinosure with a 12-year repayment period and three-year moratorium. NNPC will cover the outstanding 15% of the price tag. Chinese financing is available for the project, linked to China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. (CPPEC) working on the construction. From the above paragraphs, you can see that the project financing model under GEJ is not the same under Buhari. This is a political project. Olokola LNG initiated by Obj when he was about to leave was killed by Yaradua. That was his only project for South West. |

post=91167148:Don't mind them, most of our boys don't travel to South East.Osun is far below Abia. To help situation, estimated $100 billions that would have been saved by Okonjo Iweala ended up in the hand of South East people developing the area more and making the people more richer. The North is also taking his shares with various political projects. CBN intervention to Agric sector, covid-19 palliatives deals, School feeding on lockdown, NPA & NNPC projects and many more openly. |

There is hope for us Niger-delta, The fact that the north cannot move the gas and oil deposits in our land and water to their arid land means that all these projects is still at our mercies, Let them build the gas pipelines, as far as the gas emanates from my backyard , I will shut it down the day I deemed fit. There are plenty of gas flaring from plethora of oil coys in the delta yet we cannot boast of 6hours constant light across the 6states of Niger delta, Nigeria cannot, I say it cannot be good, empower yourself and your children and be prepared to take what belongs to you now or in the nearest future, The Egyptians did not allow the children of Isrealites go in a platter of gold Dont be fooled with the term unity in diversity, it hasn't worked, the north are not like us, we are different in all ramifications ranging from culture, religion, value we place on human life, etc therefore it cant work, Nigeria need to be divided. When we are divided, we will save ourself from all these political fight up and down, we will save ourself from killings in kano, Kaduna , boko haram will come to an end since no more oil money to covertly finance them. We will ever live in peace, justice and harmony when will divide, I have never been to most northern states and I dont think nothing will take me there in my life time, rather we have northerners all working in our land occupying all the juicy positions in customs , oil coys, sea ports etc and we live in peace with them because our strength is Jesus Christ that taught us to live in peace with all men. |
