Your opinion though which you are entitled to...not really the fact.

Nobody is jubilating here but when we see some difference, we point it out. It's about objectivity, not sentimentality. I don't belong to any party, not voted in any election since 2011, don't know Tinubu or any of his lieutenants neither have I benefited anything from them, but we commend when necessary & accuse when the need arises.
That's what you should do to your leaders on the other side (from governors to assembly members to NDDC) - hold them accountable for once and see how things will turn around.

Like I said before, a large proportion of the monies meant for your development has been diverted into the coffers of your leaders - hold them accountable for that. Buhari & co should not be held responsible for the diversion of your funds by your brothers!
What I'm trying to say is that Lagos State is not different from any parts of Nigeria, I'm not absolving my leaders of any blame...after all am from Akwa ibom state and my governor is doing well, better than Lagos governor is currently doing...(Note:I'm comparing Governors in this instance)
Although he can do better but I will say I'm 80% satisfied with him.
About the NDDC, they will meet their Waterloo soon.
back to topic, Lagos Is no different from the rest of us, we have both been underdeveloped and stoled from by our respectives governments over the years. if Tinubu have done all you have said Lagos will definitely be competing with Kigali after all it is much richer or even Johannesburg but if you talk about population then we can just draw one of the chinese/India cities into the mix, after all there're all somuch populated.

Where do you think the limestone comes from cheesy(assuming you know what it is & its core use in cement production) ?

Is Sokoto in the South?

Obajana?

Okpella is just ONE of his factories. Do you even know Sokoto has been producing cement since the 70's? Did he triple his networth to $3.1b from Edo or his acquisition of Sokoto Cement Company?

Can you see why I emphasise you're ignorant and lack capacity to properly discuss the topic at hand?

Even your fellow Northerners won't believe that. Ask them.
See Bros, forget that thing. I know you are being Patriotic to your Region but it doesn't mean you should lie.
Even if you ask the Yorubas here that apparently don't like the Igbos, they will still tell you same thing. apart from Kano and Kaduna, no other part of the north is as developed than the East.
And besides the East has a much higher Living Standard than all the northern states in the country. beat that.
See in living Standard even Ebonyi will be dragging with Kano and Kaduna states.
cause even in those states only less than 1% l are rich or even average.

Bulk cement from where? To where? Through where? When there are huge deposits of limestone waiting to be processed in his backyard? Something Sokoto Cement has been doing since for over 50 years?

Do you know what limestone is at all?

Do you know where its deposits are in Nigeria?

Please let's try and make reasonable and informed comments here. OB3 and AKK Pipeline Projects have been in the plan since 2013, before this administration. Oilserv handled the OB3 Pipeline project with a GTP stationed in Oben. OB3 and AKK Projects are purely about distribution of gas for more sales, industrialise the nation and stop flaring of gas in the ND (SS & SE) region. We can also lessen the demand and make petrol and diesel a lot cheaper if we start utilising more of CNG for trucks, generators and maybe Sedans and SUVs (Long term plan but very achievable). The lesser the demand, the lesser the cost.

Read more here: https://businessday.ng/energy/oilandgas/article/no-pipeline-ever-built-in-nigeria-measured-up-to-size-or-capacity-of-ob3/

For example, CNG from Nigerian Gas Company, Aba Gas Station is piped and sent to:

1. Glass Company in Ogbor Hill (they manufacture all the beer bottles used by Nigerian Breweries Plc)

2. Aba Malting Plant (Nigerian Breweries Plc) in Ogbor Hill

3. Powergas Company in Ogbor Hill (they supply Compressed Natural Gas to Nigerian Breweries Plc Aba in Abia and Ama in Enugu, Awo Omamma in Imo States, etc)

4. PZ Company in Aba

5. 7Up Bottling Company in Ogbor Hill, Aba

6. Alaoji Power Station (TBC)

7. Many more..

We also have NGC Gas Stations in Delta, Rivers and Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom servicing the south too. There's even a Gas Central Processing Facility in Gbaran Ubie, Bayelsa State.

The point is, we are wasting a lot of gas through flaring in the SS and SE thus wasting our natural resources and severly damaging / impacting negatively to the environment. We still end up bearing the brunt, you know how and why? Firstly, because we inhale the black soot in Rivers/Delta States due to contamination of air caused by gas flaring. Secondly, no matter how much power we generate in the SS/SE region, it will be sent to the National Grid System and shared almost equally with every other state in the federation. Yes, the government needs to do more for SS and SE regions but

1. The gas we have and utilising now is wasting away through flaring and underutilisation.

2. More power stations can be powered by supplying this wasteful and underutilised gas to them.

3. More industries can be set up while existing ones can greatly benefit by the OB3 and AKK Pipeline projects.

4. The 3 tiers of government stand to make more money from all the gas sales

In summary, OB3 serves the purpose of taking excess gas supply to Lagos and by extension the SW. AKK does same to the North. In the end, Nigeria makes more money as a nation via sales, more power supply as more gas fired power plants are energised and SE and SE witness less contamination of air through flaring.

Glass industries at ogbor hill is now a moribund Company , there is no more production going on there . it is being used by Glass force at UMUEME Village as ware house. it is Glass force Umueme dat produce bottles for Nigeria brewery. im telling u dis cos i reside beside glass industries ogbor Hill. b4 dey stop production 2 years ago dey used to produce bottles for pharmaceutical industries not for beer or brewery. secondly, who told u dat power gas supply gas to Nigeria brewery? do u know dat power gas supply compressed gas. nigerian brewery have access to natural gas pipeline direct. infact most Companies in aba have access to natural gas from shell direct. there are gas pipelines everywhere in those industrial area in aba. it is one of those things dat attract some Companies to aba. ABA also have good water table. so, therefore POWER gas, mostly supply compressed gas to companies dat don't have access to shell pipelines, mostly outside aba, unless if their is problem on gas line, those companies can buy LPG for use on their oven.

Sense is not far from you. In fact it is inside you. But many Nigerian government officials are allergic to common sense.

PapaBrowne:
In my honest opinion, this is a senseless project for the simple reason that spending that $2.8billion to build just the pipeline would have built the largest Solar farm in the world(2500MW) right in Kano which could probably supply all of the Electricity needs of North West Nigeria.
There is so much sunlight wasting away in the north it’s a no brainer spending that much to build a pipeline to transport gas from the Niger Delta when gas availability is not even guaranteed.

The current largest Solar Power Station in the world is in Pavagada, India @ 2000MW. It cost $2.1b.
With $2.8bn there is no reason not to do something like that with that kind of money.

If you spend $2.8bn to build a pipeline to pump gas all the way up, you still need to build a gas power plant costing same amount, you also need to ensure maximum security of those pipelines over hundreds of kilometers etc.

A solar plant would have made all the sense a million times more.

Okay, Glass Force Industry. Perhaps that's why it is called "Glass Force Road?" just after 7Up road. Noted, thanks.

Yes, NGC Aba Gas Station supplies Natural Gas not Compressed NG, Power Gas Company supplies CNG. My initial post will be edited.

Hold up, are you talking about piped Natural Gas from NGC Gas Station to Aba Malting Plant only OR to others like NB Plc in Aba (the one close to Bata Junction)? I am very certain about Aba Malting Plant getting direct NG supply from NGC station. Ama and Awo Omamma use CNG 100%.

Seems you work(ed) and/or live(d) around that axis? You're correct, Aba has clean water. Na government them no get grin

It is not your opinion but the truth. When Jonathan initiated the project in 2013, it was a private public basis. The tender for investment failed. 614 kilometres for a start, the cost benefit analysis failed. Rate of return on investment - failed.

Contrary to what they are saying, this project is being guaranteed by loan from China. Nigeria would provide a sovereign guarantee for 85% of the pipeline’s cost.

The AKK link will cost a total of $2.59 billion, with the guarantee to be funded by China’s Sinosure with a 12-year repayment period and three-year moratorium. NNPC will cover the outstanding 15% of the price tag.

Chinese financing is available for the project, linked to China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co. (CPPEC) working on the construction.

From the above paragraphs, you can see that the project financing model under GEJ is not the same under Buhari. This is a political project.

Olokola LNG initiated by Obj when he was about to leave was killed by Yaradua. That was his only project for South West.

Bros...who stopped the Niger Delta from being developed?

Ask your brothers in NDDC that have steadily received accumulated trillions of Naira to develop the Niger Delta for 20 years since 2001 but have diverted the monies.
Meanwhile, it is the same Northern presidency that just instituted an audit into the affairs of the NDDC last year after 19 years of the NDDC existence. When your Niger Delta brother was in the presidency, he never cared that money meant for your development was being stolen and diverted by your co-brothers.

Ask your governors that have been collecting 13% derivation asides from their regular allocation for 21 years since 1999 but have left the Niger Delta states in a state of backwardness.

Ask these people....your development lies in their bellies, their bank accounts or in their landed properties and investments.

Ask them & let the FG be, FG has never starved the NDDC of funds over the years. FG have never defaulted in giving your governors their 13% derivation, if not, you would have heard of it.

Have a great Sunday.
