On google, type in "Canadian style resume for caregiver". There are so many examples. Saw some really good ones

thanks for the good work you are doing. would like to ask this for someone who has a diploma in Journalism but has always been a printer what online courses can he undertake to take advantage of this process.
if there are what type of courses should he do. would appreciate if you can be specific.
is this pathway age limiting? is the job also age specific.
thanks

I don't know much about it like I am still researching how to take advantage of it. What I do know is that it is not age limiting as there is no max age. However, remember after 2 years, you can apply for PR via express entry. It will boost your score no doubt, but will the boost be enough? That has to be researched by the individual.

You might find surfing through the course list a little much especially if you dont know what courses to look for. I made a small list of relevant courses here:

Please are you in canada now?

you think you know all, thats why you answered me in alomst a rude manner, However, LMIA is not needed in this Pilot. The Pilot that needed LMIA is the LCP Live-in Caregiver Pilot which has since been stopped since last year and improved upon by floating these two new Pilot. The two new Pilot program is LMIA exempted. Thank You

LMIA is not required, all that is needed is for the employer to fill the offer of employment form and ensure that the household income is sufficient enough to pay a caregiver.

The processing time is 12 months and it is paper application.

So nice that your brother-in-law is ready to help you out with the job offer because that is the MAJOR challenge about this route to Canada.

The following are the steps to take:

1. Your in-law download the offer for employment form on cic page (IMM 5983),fills it, sign and forward to you to sign as well.

The trick about getting a positive response for your application, is to ensure that your in-law's household income can ACCOMMODATE the ability to pay you the minimum wage of d province. This is a crucial factor to the success of your application.

If your in-law can show the ability to pay you the minimum of like $32,000 per year, then he is a potential employer.

Another important factor is to ensure your in-law genuinely requires the service of a caregiver. So they must have children between d ages of 0-18.

2. Get your credentials evaluated by any of the designated bodies e.g WES.

3. IELTS- Minimum CLB 5

4. Show proof of your ability to do the job

Check out this guide on CIC website. it will show you all you require for a successful application.

Guide 0104 – Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker – Application for Permanent Residence and an Occupation-Restricted Open Work Permit from Outside Canada

Lastly, like someone mentioned earlier, try to read from page one and also visit twinkleberyl's page.
She has done a lot of research about this route and submitted her application already. If you have any question, send her a mail, she will reply. She is also willing to help and nice too.

I wish you the best.

One thing i know about this pilot is that it does not require any proof of fund. It is actually the only immigration work permit pilot with NO PROOF OF FUND.
However, you need the following things:

1) Canadian styled Resume with a Canadian Phone Number
2) LinkedIn account with a professional profile picture
3) Professionally crafted Cover Letter
4) IELTS Exam with at least 5 Band Score (#75k)
5) Qualification assessment with WES(Canada)(#65K)
6) Free Certificate exam in First Aid, CPR and AED(Optional but better). Check out www.firstaidforfree.com

If anybody is interested in Home Support Work Pilot, i can post some job links here for you to apply. Just indicate interest.

Hello dear, Weldon once again,. I have a question though, I understand this program does not have age limit, however I read somewhere that the age factor might still be a challenge in future when applying for PR after our 2 years of working with Work permit. For instance, someone who's 33 as at when given the work permit Visa will be 35 or 36 as the case may be when applying for PR, will this in any way affect their chances of getting the PR by then?
Twinkleberyl:

Firstly, to get into Canada to work as a caregiver, you have 2 options:
1. Work outside the province of Quebec:
The only way here if you are applying from outside Canada is through the home child care or home support worker immigration pilot. Requires: ielts clb 5, 1 year post secondary and a job offer. No LMIA required. Live in may not be neccessary. You can arrive Canada with your family

2. Work in the province of quebec;
The only way here is through the temporary foreign worker program for live in caregiver and it requires that your employer submits an LMIA to hire you. Requires 9 months caregiver training or 1 year paid caregiver work experience. You may not be able to arrive Canada with your family because all you will be getting is a temporary work permit that will expire in 2 years and you will need to show that you have something or someone that ties you back to your home country or convice the Visa officer that you will return back to your country at the expiration of your work permit. Though its possible to extend it or apply for permanent residence in Quebec after at least 1 year of working in Canada.
Live in may not be mandatory.

If an employer wants to sponsor or pay for your relocation costs, they will tell you or it will be spelt out in the job contract.
Live in arrangement for a caregiver arriving with family...you may have to find out from your employer what type of arrangement they have for you...cos it could be just a room in their house or a basement apartment. But its something your employer has to clarify themself.

I agree with you, I am also considering submitting mine soon, but I have a few questions, does an accompanying spouse need to write IELTS and do ECA? I didn't seem to find any info of that nature on Canada website, that is why am asking someone that has started their application already. Thanks

I believe this a good and alternative route for Nigerians. Am working toward submitting application in January 2020 by God's grace. I pray it worked out.

Re: Home Child Care Provider Pilot Canada Program For Nigerians by fash78(m): 4:59pm On Aug 05, 2020
I have done this for two of my sisters. One is already Canadian PR under the old live in caregiver path. Mt second sister's application is in progress under the new nanny path which will qualify her for open work permit and Canadian PR after 2 years. I can help to answer questions for those who are interested in doing this having gone through the old process and the new process.
These are some critical points for success:
1. You must have someone Canadian PR or Citizen who is qualified and willing to employ you as a nanny.
2. You must have Language tests results showing a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5 or equivalent.
3. You must have one year of Canadian post-secondary education or the foreign equivalent;
4. Proven experience as a nanny
5. Show that you have qualification and training in childcare including Firstaid, CPR.

Please review this link from IRCC on the process for home childcare provider application:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/hire-foreign-worker/in-home-caregiver.html
You can also review the forum below. You will be able to read about this program and experience of people who have applied world wide.

In my opinion, this is the easiest way for folks to help their family and friends to come to Canada so far they are willing to sacrifice 2 years of working as a nanny.
So for anyone interested let me know how I can help.
