from this position of the attorney general it appears the whistle blower is also expected to recover the money and lodge same with cbn! absolutely ridiculous! he isn't the police or EFCC! previous whistle blowers who got paid merely reported to EFCC. this man should've gone to EFCC and not Malami. Malami has a controversial reputation when it comes to money matters especially recovery of looted funds / assets

hey, ask efcc to investigate it and find out who is custodian of the secret account.
that's usually the normal process for whistleblowing policy.
they should keep national pressure on this issue

The efcc process is separate from whistleblower process.

Regardless of the manner of discovery on a looted fund efcc will still need to investigate.

The first step is the revelation. Revelation is where whistle-blowing is.

The whistle-blower revealed that an illegitimate money exists in a private account and is receiving a steady income from government agency. He gave the particulars of the info.

Agf investigated and confirmed the information to be authentic. He signed undertaking acknowledging the whistle-blower and accepting jurisdiction over the matter.

Government agrncies are to deposit receipts into a TSA in CBN.

This particular receipt was outside of TSA and outside of CBN. It is therefore illegitimate income.

The whistleblower has completed his bargain. Agf need to move forward and recover the money and change its status to legitimate by depositing it in TSA.

Have they done that?

He ackbowledged the whisteleblower in a signed document. Has he filulfilled the whistleblowing obligation?


It is illegal to force the whistleblower to a partial payment or to negotiate the payments due to him because of the amount involbed.

Were they stewpid when they drafted and made the policy into law? Why did they not put a cap on the payout?


All the talk about whitleblower process and recovery is distraction.

Agf need to account for what action he has taken since becoming aware and what action will be taken against the owners of that private account.

If it wasnt for the whistleblower govt would have lost billions, money needed in this dire time. Therefore the whistleblower deserve an award. The law on whistleblowing covers that. There is no need to make new laws or reinvent the process.
