In 2017, interviews/aptitude tests were not held till late July and the list came out early September. Most MSc scholars that year deferred till the following year while a few started in January (for the few programmes that have January start dates). So anything is still possible. Keep fingers crossed and pray.

What if what was sent to the presidency (Covid-19 PTF) as *kolladey* said was guidelines on how the interviews will be conducted, hoping that once The inter-state lockdown is called off the interview process can kick start for PhDs.

If this is the case, we can expect results and some can even resume this year.

Flights will begin to the Uk in August ( at least so Virgin Atlantic Said) France are already giving Visas, same is expected of Germany and the rest.

As always let’s just keep the faith and hope alive, it will end in praise

This particular one is for only overseas postgraduate studies (MSc and PhD).

There is another one for those that are already studying for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Nigerian Universities.

You can check their website www.ptdf.gov.ng for more information about their scholarship programs.

Yes sir but let it be one of the PTDF approved schools.

Just thinking loud though. Why are we not seeing people applying to German and Chinese universities? Almost everybody I know is opting for UK or France.
Germany and China got some good schools. Moreso, the standard if living is quite high in Germany.
My quiet thinking though.

But I think there is still ban on opening of universities for now, hence PhD guys might not be called for interview just yet....its a gradual process thou, they will soon lift that too.

The most important thing is interstate travelling. Once it is lifted PTDF can continue their interview if they wish. It is the students resumption that the federal government is trying to avoid. If you go to university environment you will notice that some staff, mostly non-academics, are busy doing their works. I don't think that can stop PTDF from continuing the interview.

When UI ASUU chased them away from the UI venue, they arranged for another venue immediately. Venue shouldn't be an excuse. If they really want to continue, an opportunity has presented itself. They can invite few candidates per day and possibly use universities as venues.

I doubt if physical PhD interview can continue until international flights commence. Some PhD candidates are currently out of the country. Unless they choose to use an hybrid system for the interview. But I'm partially disappointed in the way PTDF handled this whole thing communication wise. Turkish government scholarship just sent mail for a physical interview at their embassy in Abuja, so let's be hopeful because things are opening up.
