The victim mentality is what got the South West presidency in 1999 and the North the presidency in 2015. Moghalu is just playing to the gallery in the hope that the same victim mentality will somehow work for him in 2023

He revealed that the Biafran struggle is nothing but a political ransome. Thats what they hate about his article.

Igbo want Nigeria to continue the way it is because the chaos allows them easy access and liberty to exercise their otherwise lack of cohesion.

If Nigeria restructures back to regions, or disintegrates, Ibo will loose market, and loose survival.

So they front with Biafra and put up a show....but deep down and amongst themselves they dont want anything but Nigeria. In the course of their double-face they suffer losses which are nothing compared to the greater loss if Nigeria were ever partitioned into ethnic jurisdictions.

The Yoruba were in lock-step about either reclaiming the stolen poll victory or getting the fvk out of the sovereingty. North was not as ambitious, and had no legitimate grievance to the position. Moghalu cannot repeat what Yoruba and North did without first finding surrogacy amongst his people.

All i see here is gathering of vultures.

In Abia state, the rest of them do not recognize the Ngwa man as part of them. In Imo state, the rest of them hates the Mbaise man! The Biafra agitation is not even carried out in igboland but in PH and Asaba. A confused lot them all

The North's grievance was that OBJ refused to serve one term as agreed and that GEJ ran for election in 2011 after Yar'Adua died. All na victim mentality. Moghalu is a hypocrite. He is even worse than the Igbo leaders he is talking about. At least those ones we know they are rogues. If he even wants to try and use victimhood as an excuse for him to become president in 2023 we for understand He is trying to position himself as a good boy so owners of Nigeria can pat his head and reward him But dem no foolish, this guy cannot even 10% of the votes in his own LGA. Yet people wonder why Nnamdi Kanu/IPOB are so popular with the average guy in Enugu or Umuahia

Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, the 2019 Presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, has received backlash from Nigerians on social media for using the phrase, ‘Nigerian Igbo’ to address the Igbos.

In a series of tweets on Saturday night, Moghalu said, “Nigerian Igbo complain about political ‘marginalization.’ While true because of the civil war, and while Nigeria needs ‘a new grand bargain’ between it’s ethnic nationalities, the Igbos themselves have harmed themselves.


“They must first shed the victim mentality. Then they must address the disadvantage of being ‘led’ by selfish, greedy and self-centered political elite masquerading as political and social-cultural leaders who are the first to shoot down their own.

“Many Igbo leaders are fine men and women. But there are too many that are envious and self-hating, choose to be politically second-class so long as it serves their little interests.

“Ndigbo needs a strategy, with high impact strategic engagement with other ethnic nationalities with a win-win proposition, not ethnic noise-making.


“Do you think it’s a surprise that @BarackObama became US president despite the attempts of many other black Americans like Jesse Jackson? Obama succeeded because he did not have a chip on his shoulder, though he acknowledged the systemic injustice of racism.

“But he had a proposition, not just a sense of entitlement. He was able to largely because he was the son of a Kenyan man and a white American mother who did not descend from a line of former slaves and therefore was spared of their psychological insecurities.

“The joke in Kenya is that a Luo (his father was from the Luo tribe) could be a US president but not a Kenyan one! I ran for President in 2019 as a Nigerian candidate, not as an Igbo candidate, and no apologies. I love Ndigbo. But I also love other Nigerians, unburdened by the hang-ups of history.


“All of this is not to say we should not deal with the civil war in our national history. It is the elephant in the room. I have argued that Nigeria’s leaders must apologize for the millions of lives lost in the Nigeria-Biafra war if we are to heal. That’s the right thing to do,” he said in the statement he shared on Twitter.

Moghalu tweets, however, received a wide range of criticism as some Twitter users see the Professor as pitting himself against his own people.

Do you blame him for trying to remove himself from the rest, seeing how Igbos are busy disgracing themselves and wandering aimlessly in politics and Kanu damaging the image of the Igbos all because of his Biafra, who would want to identity as an Igbo. Everyone now takes Igbos as the most insulting tribe in Nigeria that lack respect even for their elders, their way of reasoning is becoming so crude. We believed this behavior was limited to the IPOBians but it seems it has permeated into the general Igbo mentality and accepted by the Igbos as the new normal.

This is the worst time to be called Igbo.
