Fighting corruption in Nigeria is a difficult job, you will step on powerful toes and they will fight back. Whoever is going to take over from Magu will suffer the same fate. The job is simply a banana peel. Going forward, there is a need to urgently amend the EFCC act to offer protection to the chairman of the commission. The chairman should enjoy the same legal protection that the Auditor General for the Federation and the CBN Governor enjoys. In addition, nobody should be allowed to act as chairman for more than six months. If a nominee cannot be confirmed after six months of acting, he should hand over to another person. 1 Like |
