I've been in and out of this name for some time I've always made money from it. I bought it when it was $73 because I knew they would benefit from a push for contactless payments during the pandemic, but I chickened out and sold at $81 when an analyst downgraded the stock. I know better to take analyst recommendations with a grain of salt but I was compelled to sell it because several times in Square's (SQ) history, whenever you think it will propel towards the $100 range, it sells off. So I thought that will be the case this time around but I was wrong.

I still like the stock but it has run up too fast, maybe wait for a pull back for a better entry point.

Noted. Thanks.

It depends on what you want.
To Warren Buffet, it is, because he needs a safe investment he can understand to swallow up the loads of cash under his management.
He is one of the most patient investors and could have projected 5,10 or even 20 years ahead for the real rewards of this investment.

After the expected rush (that didn't really happen) following the announcement that he had invested, the stock has not gained too much and that doesn't bother him really.
Can you wait like him?
No( I have to be honest)

This means while you keep an eye on it (Warren must be right and it will reflect at some point; just that we can't say how soon), you can continue scouting for something with a prospect of nearer reward to help you continue to build your capital.

Q1: No Idea.
Q2: Gaslog (GLOG); Commscope Holding Company Inc (COMM); Elevate Credit Inc (ELVT).

Note: Kindly do your due diligence before you invest. I'm more of a long term investor than a trader. If your main investment objective is short term/swing trading, please ignore.

Enjoy!
They say put your money where your mouth is. I bought all three yesterday and GLOG did 3.38%; COMM did 0.90%. I like the slow and steady move.

However, ELVT did 22.54% (a ''NIO'' stunt cheesy); and more green after-hours. I don't think I'll like to keep ELVT longterm anymore. Although quite good balance sheet for a stock under $5, I'll have to sell next week!

I felt it lagged for so long, and agonisingly so then. (Some stocks are currently behaving like that, waiting for holders to sell before zooming off. E.g. Gilead grin)
I sold all immediately I hit $100/share gain to buy other stocks with prospects.

2 of the biggest regrets are when you sell too early and when you're waiting for a "pullback" to buy and the pullback never happens as you watch the stock accelerate higher.

I had been watching Tesla in 2019 - following the debate on it when the stock price was going sideways for months. I remember coming back from Nigeria and seeing, in early December 2019, the breakout from consolidation I had been waiting for as it hit $400 but I decided to wait for a pull back. The bloody stock didn't look back and was close to $900 by February 2020 before covid-19 knocked it down giving me another buying opportunity which, of course, I didn't take! Considering I was in my village last year, this is definitely the fault of my village people. The lesson here is that if you're convinced a stock is moving higher, don't wait for the ideal entry.

The main fear is buying Tesla and seeing it collapse as it's priced for perfection. But it's still definitely something short-term traders can buy for a run up toward $2k.

Some other short-term plays not mentioned here, pardon me if I have missed it, are Draftking (DKNG) and Plugpower (PLUG). The latter is a lot more risky as it's run quite a bit but it's worth having a look for those who can afford to take the risk.

There is nothing to be ashamed of if am to be honest.
We were all born empty at birth and asked questions and probed until we got where we all are now.
If I find myself in a crypto thread today for eg., I will ask questions too.

No, not at this rate unless it pulls back to $900 or below. I don officially friend-zone Tesla just like I will not touch Amazon as they are by my classification too expensive for comfort.
I mean there are many fishes in the ocean.

My resolve now is to accumulate NIO by averaging down, but it is all looking like any addition will rather be averaging up because I bought at $3.02.

I highly doubt that Tesla will fall back below $900 o.
But it’s never too late to enter the market.
I was considering amazon but it’s too high.
However I see it reaching $5k by January, so it’s on my watch list.

Please ehn I wanted to ask.
When is the best time to sell and re enter the market? Eg: I have made $1200+ on Tesla alone but I bought at a high exchange rate. When & how can I cash out that profit?

Good day ladies and gents investors
am about to open a trading212 account
upon registration, i got to a page asking for TAX ID!!??
What are the implications of getting a tax ID in NG? How to go about it?
i know i can get a TIN on https:// tinverification .jtbgovDOTng/
but then again what are the implications of this? I currently do bit of work abroad though my main country of residence is Nigeria.

Q1. are they any hidden charges? or will this TIN be useless because i would rather not have it at the time being.

for those already on Trading 21, Q2. pls how does it compare with bamboo and trove which i currently use??

lastly when we say Gpay concerning Trading 212.. Q3do you mean Google pay OR grameenphone pay??

also downloaded BARTER, PAYONEER, and PAGA.
Q4. which would you advise me to use with my Trading platforms for a simpler, cost-effective app to receive and save my US Dollars and the occasional conversion to naira to transfer to my naira accounts in NG

currently have some USD funds trapped in my Access bank US Dom account, got locked out of my account via the Ibank platform also lost access to my Access app after Updating my phone .. but we must move forward

Thanks in anticipation to all contributors here.

Trading 212 is quite difficult to open if you’re based in Nigeria. Their verification process it’s time consuming & you might find yourself going to the bank to get a statement that matches with the address you used for registration. The tax number is not necessary (Nigerians). They just want to verify your name & address. I have been waiting for my own verification to come through but I use their demo.

In terms of commission, they don’t charge anything at all. Compared to bamboo & the rest, you will be saving a lot of money on commission charges which is top notch.
Their interface is very understandable and updates real time. Apps like trove or bamboo will need you to refresh some times to get the current price.

In terms of deposit, unfortunately only gpay works for Nigerians. So you have to sign up google pay on your desktop (can’t download it in Nigerian Apple store). Then you set up your card etc. The gmail account must match the one you used for registration on 212. Deposit is clearEd almost immediately. Another good thing with gpay is that you’re using your naira card to pay for dollars. You get charged at bank rate. My friend funded his at 390 with ZenithBank.

In terms of withdrawal, the money will be sent back to the card that you used on gpay. The withdrawal is done immediately but it can take some days to show in your account, depending on the bank you use. The dollars will be sent based on the bank exchange rate on that day to naira.

Flutterwave and the rest doesn’t work with 212 unfortunately. Only gpay.
You can do a bank transfer from your Dom account but that can take days to clear.

I use bamboo for now because there’s is more easier for a Nigerian based person. But if you have enough patience, you can try with 212.

Cc: @badmusmusa (because you asked the other day). I have understood 212 better now

Just type NOT LEGALLY REQUIRED for the TIN. Verification is very easy. Mine took just a day because I had to go to the bank to get my bank statement(must be stamped and not less than 3 months).
