Many cultures in the south, especially the SE & SS; e.g. Anambra, Ebonyi & Cross Rivers also indulge in child marriages where girls as young as 10 yrs are married off to men old enough to be their grandfathers.

This is just a case of CHILD TRAFFICKING, disguised as "marriage", to give it some form of Legality!
It is th action of ONE MAN, a Peadophile and Child trafficker and he happens to come from Delta State, which happens to be the adjoining state to Edo State.

To be comparing this singular event to the Child Marriages that go on among Northern Nigeria Muslims and to even [color=@770077]try to use it to justify that it is a "Nigerian thing", as opposed to a "Northern-Islamic Culture" is laughable and disingenous[/color]

There are so many differences between what happened here and what goes on in the North, when it comes to Child marriage:
- This event is by ONE man, a "one-off" but in Northern Nigeria, ALL Northern Muslims engage in Child Marriage and Peadophilia, its their Culture.
- This event was carried out by a Southerner 'NOBODY of a man' but among Northern Nigerian Muslims, Emirs, Sheiks, District Heads, Imams and even Governors like now "Lawmaker/Senator" Yerima all regulalrly engage in Child Marriage and Peadophilia
- There is no place in Edo or Delta where Child marriage is a CULTURE but among Northern Nigeria Muslims, it is a CULTURE that dates back to Usman Dan Fodio and even Muhammed, who was also a Peadophile, married a Child, as we all read in the Islamic 'Holy' Book, the Quran.
- This incident was quickly identified and will be Punished in Southern Nigeria of Edo State but if it were in any part among Northern Nigeria Muslims, it is standard, normal behaviour that is allowed.
- The man who did this incident in Delta/Edo State is presumed a Peadophile and Child trafficker already because the laws in Southern Nigeria does not tolerate such animalistic behaviour but the ISLAMIC SHARIA LAWS that operate in Northern Nigeria gives LEGITIMACY to this barbaric act of Child marriage and it is a common occurence there.

As you can see, those who want to use this SINGULAR Incident to portray their BEASTLY BEHAVIOUR as something that is common in the Whole Nigeria, are mischievious and their attempt is dead on arrival, my advice to them is that they should stop their evil ways and criminalise Child Marriage in their Islamic Sharia Laws so that no one can practice it anywhere in Nigeria, just as Southern Nigerian States have Criminalised it, even the Moslems in Southern Nigeria abhor the act and wont do it because they know they will end up in jail if they attempt it.

Northern Nigerian Muslims should stop encouraging Peadophilia and Child Marriage by abolishing it in their Islamic Sharia Laws of Northern Nigeria.
