I am not the one that offered 31m
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 12:56pm On Jul 21, 2020
shogbenga:
With 31m naira, I will get 1,937,500 units of Zenith bank @ #16/unit

@#2.5 dividend (because of COVID), that gives #4,843,759 naira annually

With dividend yield @15.6%, capital will be recovered in 6.5 years
You are now a don in this business ooo

Since I do not have #50,000,000 and above for now for FG bonds, I would need candid and profitable advice where to invest some money on hand right now - treasury bills due has been remitted, one more due next month.

Fbn fixed income fund, how good is that?

Thanks already.

An alternative for Tbills investors remain VGIF. It's a fund that guaranteed both capital and returns just like Tbills but rate is far higher compare to Tbills right now. With VGIF on the long run you are sure of 10.5% or slightly more with a good fund manager like Investment one. Each year an extra rate of about 2.5 to 3% is expected above the guaranteed rate of 7.5%. You can register online at the comfort of your location no stress. It's free entry and exit. click the link on my signature to register online.

You did not include the interim dividend of 30k in your calculations

Total dividend was N2.80k.

I deliberately made it 2.5 just to be conservative and because of COVID, at least for this year

Very good to under estimate returns, but I don't think banks will be adversely affected by Covid 19.

Do you gamble in the stock market?

You only gamble if you don't have the knowledge of the market

You must know why you are buying any stocks
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ojesymsym: 1:26pm On Jul 21, 2020
Even when you gamble, you should always learn when to jump out when the odds are not going in your favor and to take profit when your aim has been achieved. The mastery of this emotion is what I believe differentiate profit takers from losers.

As long as you got your entry price relatively right

You cannot get it wrong in the stock market

Now imagine those who got in when Zenith was <N12?

Imagine the annual dividend yield they will be entitled to for the next 5 years

People stock up for different reasons. All am saying is you can't be 100% sure like you stated your Returns in 6years time.

Some of us predicted our ROI in Ntb some years back thinking by now it would've double up our Capital even though Capital is safe but see what's happening now.

Even Warren Buffets traded at lost, he also had the knowledge.
