Having proper understanding of the Scriptures we see that the SOUL consists of the body (dust) and spirit or breath of life ("ruach" in Hebrew).
When one dies, the spirit or breath returns to God and the body goes to the dust (decays).
So, the SOUL is you. You are a living SOUL!!!

Oops I made a mistake! What was breathed into Ha-adam was Nis-mat. and then Ha-adam became a living Nephesh.

Psyche and Nemesh both means Soul in Greek and Hebrew respectively.
Ruach is Spirit in Hebrew.

1. People have the believe that when a person dies, his soul goes to Hell fire (the wicked and unsaved). But the Bible says Jesus himself went to Hell, but did not see corruption because he was raised up on the third day by God.

When Jesus was about to die, he said, "Father unto your hands I commit my spirit".

You see that when the spirit left him what remained was lifeless body or "dead soul". The spirit or breath of God is what gives us life.

Acts 2:27 refers to Jesus; "Because you will not leave my soul in hell, neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption".

Jesus was raised up to life, indeed his body did not see corruption or decay, his soul was not left in hell.

Most of the time you know, Jesus spoke in parables.
a. "Killing the body" symbolizes the first death.
