The presidency has replied the senate saying only the presidency can sack the service chiefs...
angry angry Some times i begin to ask myself do we really have someone at the top? It is pretty obvious that baba don't know what he is doing. We can't be losing men on the battlefield due to incompetency and inept of our suppose leaders.
The service chief have done their best and it is time for them to leave we need fresh brains and ideas.

Ok now I get it.
Can't other combat corps go for the training like the artillery or armour?
They should be able to, I'm not very sure tho especially when they show interest in it and have display marksmanship in the range.

Sen Ali Dume made a very good point during an interview with Channels TV. I hope FG acts according to his advise

I don't think so, the sniper rifle is not a very mobile weapon.. It's more like a long distance kind kg of weapon. Which infantry soldier will want to be carrying such around?

I think there are special people trained for that kind of weapon.
The sniper rifle isn't designed for close quarter combat and isn't ideal in those scenarios. It is used for taking out long range targets. The assault rifle is designed for close range combat

Honestly those AKs our soldiers are carrying are eyesore, and they don't even look intimidating at all. Our Soldiers are using rusty Aks. Bokos, ISWAP, Bandits, Armed robbers, Cultist, Area boys are also using the same thing. Forget about the durability or ruggedity of the rifle, this is not what the Army of a big country like Nigeria supposed to be using.
Okay tell me what the NA is supposed to be.using....?

they won’t listen to him... he was the one that raised the mention in the senate to fire the chiefs... immediately presidency replied that they have no right to... is it not Nigeria again!

Seconded.
I really never liked this awkward ak to start with, I heard it comes with only 30 rounds per magazine.
Another thing is that our soldiers to be retrained time from time cos you'll see a soldier mounting roadblock and can be in this road block posting for years and in those years never shot his gun or saw any fire fight, wouldn't them must have forgotten how to aim and shoot accurately.
Am of the opinion that in every 6 months depending on your corp to always go for retraining.
You're right about the retraining aspect

You see ehn, a former retired staff sergeant said something in an interview with sahara reporters that irked me.

He said that when funds for training abroad comes for the NCOs (that is privates, corporals, sergeants etc), the senior officers (even colonel) will drop rank so that they can go abroad for the training.....and yet, they refuse to even implement such in the battlefield... Since the training wasn't even meant for them in the first place

I don't know if I would ever make it into the army but if I do, I hope to give my best.
Having followed the happenings over the past years, from losing two cousins (a Colonel & a Lt Colonel), to seeing how soldiers and insurgents execute their captives, to seeing how our soldiers were shown on France 24 fleeing for their dare life's after been overpowered by the insurgents some four or five years ago.
I have come to realise we need snipers and am hoping and planning of being the most successful one if destiny prevails.
All the best to everyone, I wish we could all be commissioned this year.
Remember, he who runs lives to fight another day. Sometimes running (officially known as tactical withdrawal) is the best option. It happens everywhere and some successful war veterans have applied the approach. Even insurgents withdraw to regroup, restrategize and ultimately launch an offensive.
Finally, for those who will make it, if you want to live to tell the stories of sambisa, think like an insurgent and act like one in the theatre of war. If they give us guerrilla tactics we give em back the guerrilla style because sometimes what we would learn at jaji and Kaduna no go add up for North East and West.
Victory is from God alone.
And in him we put all our trust.
I wonder if their curriculum is updated to mirror the harsh realities of insurgency

They're in a secured area, Moreover they don't go alone, they're escorted by heavily armed security men.

Bro, I was going to ask the same thing

In the academy, all the cadets are properly kitted. What happens to all the kits after the academy. Why are they denied proper kits? Its in the front lines these kits are really needed

bro the kits don’t belong to the army air force or navy! They belong to the academy...
They got a budget to buy and maintain these weapons for the sole use of training officer cadets..
The individual service is responsible for kitting their men..and the navy and air force has done a better job doing that..
