delpee:Well, what I saw is a tale of two governors being controlled by the godfathers who brought them into power, whereby the first one rolls over and surrenders while the other fights for his life. How do you mean when you say the situations are different? |

thesicilian:Lagos and SW has Owolowo mentality.... Owolowo is the overall Godfather of South west. He made Godfatherism and political tribalism, anilti-igbo politics a norm... You cannot be political relevant if you are don't have a Godfather with billion van like Tinubu, nobody would support you, once they is a perception that Igbos are backing you up, you have lost completely, To have a chance you must have the backing of someone like late Adedibu of Oyo state that share free food daily to have a chance against someone like Tinubu. While in Edo state, the people are more mentally independent, individualistic, capitalist minded and less tribalistic. You cant use free Owambe to hoodwink anybody, or sharing money or anti-yoruba or anti-igbo to manipulate the masses. |

kappGODSWILL:I won't stoop so low to engage you in a banter. My submission was very constructive, if you had felt different, constructively, you could have expressed your view, but as always what do you expect from one of Kabaka Tony's foot soldier? Finaly, let me enlighten you abit, being a billionaire or a millionaire doesn't define competition. |

thesicilian:In the case of Lagos, the godfather had to defer to the "stakeholders". It wasn't the decision of only one man. Sadly, Ambode stepped on too many toes who humbly waited to exert their pound of flesh. He also lost some support from the masses when instead of campaigning based on performance, he was busy denigrating Sanwoolu as a mad man. He forgot that the man was a top shot in his administration! All that coupled with the mess Lagos environment was in and his wife being labelled arrogant. In Fasholas era, Lagosians/stakeholders insisted that he must be allowed to run for the 2nd term. Godfather bowed to the will of the people against his wish. He didn't have a choice. Really, the Lagos situation is a bit more complex than most people understand. Even the presumed godfather said on live TV that Ambodes matter was beyond him because he couldn't afford to lose the support of the people. |
