How did you customize yours?

Nova Launcher Prime or Lawnchair 2, Choose icons pack to match your wallpaper. Lines icon pack for Vector wallpapers or Delta icon pack for something colourful and flat. You can also use Pixel Pie icon pack if you want close to Pixel UI theme.

Declutter your home screen by removing unessential widgets (most apps have contextual menus now so little need for widgets) and App shortcuts.

Adjust to taste.

Just checked and it's not listed anymore. Probably taken down by the Devs to update for MiUI 12 compatibility. Check some other time or check AOSP Experience.
