Why don't they rename the APCshit party to LLPP (Lie Lie People's Party); since their modus oparandi is now 'governing by lies'? |

Openbusiness4:Nonsense analogy. Are the leaders the sons while the followers the fathers? Is there any way you could equate #200 to #40 billion naira? 1.Rather a father that receives 1 million naira to cater for his own children but decides to squander the money is worse than an uncle that receives 10 million naira to cater for his nephews but squanders the money. 2. Also a Niger Delta governor that steals 50 billion naira meant for his own Niger Delta people is worse that a Federal Government that steals 500 billion meant for Niger Delta people. |

tesppidd:wow, so nice. Please explain more. Write a book on it that a FG that stole N500 billion from the Niger-delta people is better than a Niger-delta governor that stole N50 billion from the Niger-delta people. I'm sure it will be a New York Times Bestseller anti-corruption book ![]() |

murecool:Are you a paid agent?? The document you posted clearly supports what the cable stated, the last page you posted clearly stated Ministry of Justice gave legal opinion in July 2015, Authority to proceed execution was given in December 2015 all these collaborates the Cable stand. What is wrong with us that even stuff in written in black & white, we want to play politics with? Buhari's govt messed up on this issue, just like Jonathan's govt messed up on other issues- it is that simple. No need to play politics with issues that affect every Nigerian. When will Nigerians realise that APC=PDP? Gosh. |

The Azura-Edo IPP is also the first Nigerian power project to benefit from the World Bank’s ‘Partial Risk Guarantee’ structure, specifically created to meet the developing needs of emerging markets world-wide, and political risk insurance for equity and commercial debt from the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, also part of the World Bank group. Significantly, the overall transaction will be underpinned by financial support provided by the Federal Government of Nigeria through a Put and Call Option Agreement agreed by Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Honourable Minister of Finance; complementing the Power Purchase Agreement that was signed in 2013 between Azura and the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading PLC (NBET).1. The Power Purchase Agreement was signed by Okonjo back in 2013, we were already on the hook, not going ahead means breach of contract and anti investors atmosphere. FG won’t give sovereign guarantees to power investors, says Fashola2. In 2018, the FG/Fashola actually saw the problem and categorically stoped and refused to Give Sovereign Guarantees to Power Investors. Stop peddling fake news. |

GoldenGeneral:"Although various agreements were signed with Azura-Edo Indepentent Power Project Ltd and Azura Power West Africa by Jonathan administration to facilitate the construction of the 461mw plant in Edo state, they were not activated before he left office on May 29, 2015, TheCable can report". Did you see the above part at all? |

Owologbo:You are missing the point, the power purchasing agreement was already signed by Okonjo back in 2013, we were already locked into the agreement that we couldn't get out of, doing so means breach of contract, law suit and investors running away from Nigeria. FG/Fashola actually saw the problem and categorically stopped and refused to Give Sovereign Guarantees to Power Investors. The cable is mixing apple and orange. |

UgojiC:They say it clearly Jonathan Government signed the agreements in 2013, an agreement signed, is an agreement that must be upheld, Fashola said it when they came on board, their hands are tied, they can’t renegade on a deal signed by the previous Government. |

JTbaba2020:We all know Government is a continua, it was signed by the Jonathan Government in 2013, it is written clearly, President Buhari’s Administration only implemented the rubbish. |

Pres. Jonathan Flags Off $1bn IPP in Edo StateGEJ at the ground breaking ceremony. Maybe PMB traveled back in time to make Okonjo sign the agreement and also send Jona to do groundbreaking.

babaolofin:Why do you say as at August 21st, because of recession NOBODY can sign such a document. You seems not to understand that why they were all blaming GEJ for the recession, some crooks in the government then were cashing out. Was't the same period that one grass cutter was cashing out from the IDPS' fund in the North East?! |
