Late General Murtala Ramat Muhammed, who was the brain behind the coup against General Gowon can also be seen sitting behind General Gowon. General Murtala was only pretending before the outside world that he was innocent of the coup only for him to return back to Nigeria from Kampala, Uganda to take over from General Gowon. |

What a cool headed man he was. His downfall was when he allow greed settled in his heart. He was was supposed to be the one that would have handover power to civilian government but became greedy and eventually was overthrown. Had it been that he was in charge of the transition of the power from military to civilian government, Abiola should have been alive. Nevertheless, Gowon is a great man. |

millionboi2:he couldn't, same people that installed him, removed him after using him to fight the war. * Even when he agreed to aburi accord(which to him seemed like a fair deal) it was quashed by the Fulani Mafia * Even when he heard the news of the coup, he was relieved at least they didn't kill him. Gowon was a pawn in the game used to assimilate northern Christians to fight against biafra. An 80 year old pawn that never became wise. N.B Fools grow old too |

Nobody has come to the aid of the ibos right from Biafran war till now. They were abandoned by other tribes, that war was fought totally by the ibos stil it lasted for 2 and half years. Uptill now the marginalization of the ibos has been viewed by others as a good measure to checkmate the excesses of the ibos. But time has proved and shown who the real enemy is,after the using and dumping of other tribes by these sect of people. Remember during the war yes Ojukwu made mistakes but u have to note that we developed bombs that devastated the nigerian troops at Abagana, also fantastic weapins with limited resources we had cos of the blockades. From this little excerpt, one can see the advancement in d economy and technology as well as scientifically of Nigeria if the igbos are given the chance. The conflict at kadunna sometime ago was borne mainly by the ibos when there was religious clashes, the ibos have reslly been the force checkmating the physical islamization of the country. Yes there are very wicked and sabos amongst the ibos but i bet with the leadership of the ibos,BH shall be a thing of the past and herdsmen will relocate back to their countries this i can bet. When Gen Ihejirika was appointed,we saw how the Boko boys became silent till B said attack on Boko is attack on the North so Jonathan had to remove him. Do your research the Officer incharge of Military equipment production like armoured vehicles, weapons,Rpgs etc is an Ibo. It was gathered there was breakthrough after Buratai removed the previous officer incharge. Brother what am saying in essence is that other tribes must realize that their survival in one Nigeria depends largely on the Ibos survival, nobody will be safe from the Hausa/Fulani if the ibos cease to exist. If i didnt consider you,i wouldnt have brought tbis to your attention. This is a clarion call to wake up before this cancer turns to something invincible. Thank you brother for raising your observations and criticisms. quote author=OmoEpe post=92277109] Explain how igbos being in Nigeria has saved other tribes. We dont lack emotional intelligence, Everyone has to understand the role the igbo tribe plays in nigeria and the balance in the country. Please understand i dont force my views on you or anyone but am trying to let you all know the reality most people have failed to understand. I implore everyone to urge for confederation of the regions,so every region can have access to its resources and develop at its own pace. Rather than allowing those that have nothing to offer but DEATH! to milk our resources. Its time we put aside our bigotry, background, differences and rise against the common wall that needs to be razed. But i tell you,for that wall to become inexistent, its like building a moutain out of a mole hill, but i tell you tonight if everyone reading this message truly hates the death, poverty, and social injustice we have suffered then we have to rally behind the Ibos and stand for them for leadership. This is not about Federal character this is about putting an end to the Hausa/Fulani hegemony and how do we do it? We start by having one voice as a south, speaking for the North central when marginalised or attacked. If we can imbibe this and overlook d love for money,i tell you brother this will be a legacy our offsprings will proudly talk about someday. If we fail,we have failed our unborn generations thereby putting them in perpetual bondage. Thank you. OmoEpe: |

Even the butterfly contributes to the balance of nature my brother. I am here to let Nigerians know how long are we going to attack one another out of poverty and lack, losing our focus on the main problem the country is facing. Time has come for us to stand for loose Federation,so evwry region can have substantial level of autonomy to develop at its own pace. We are in a system that encourages social injustice, unequal distribution of the wealth of the country, decay in our educational as well as agricultural system, etc. A time will come,if we dont say our minds now,we may cease to have minds brother. This is not about superiority of tribe, this is all about the survival of our unborn children to free them from economic bondage we have experienced for years. This is a clarion call for our security operatives to understand it is we the citizens they are bond to protect not the money looters. If we can have sanity in our judicial and legislative systems, then its a step to a better Nigeria. Every other tribe has been policymaker,i ask you all are we not tired of the situation? I dont ask for violence cos violence breeds hatred and deaths. Its time the Ibos are recognised in leadership, like i said the ibo tribe is like a father to the whole of Southern and Western regions,if destroyed a vaccum is created and insecurity sets in when the storm spreads. Thank you OmoEpe: |

Rawhumper:My point of disagreement with you is what has just being repeated on what basis is the exertion that igbos are father figure to southern Nigeria, it was this fallacy of overestimation of self that made them lose the civil war so badly Get this once and for all you ain't better than any tribe in the South so you cant be a father figure 1) in terms of education you are far behind the West 2) In terms of physical and infrastructural development you are the least behind both SW and AS 3)GDP you are the least 4) IGR you are the poorest zone in the whole federation 6) Natural resources you are the least, even your soil is the least fertile What is the father figure then? Because you do buying and selling in which your market is made up of other regions? In fact that makes you the most dependent and vulnerable tribe So rather than claim fatherhood my brother please accept sonship of the South with grace because that's all what the indices points to |

Rawhumper:As appealing as you sound you need to first perish the thought of igbo superiority to other tribes All tribes are equal The false assumption made you lose the civil war so badly, you instead of partnering with SS you went there to dominate them hence they denied you access to the sea which was essential in winning the war. You can't come to me as a superior without basis and except cooperation from me The pride of the igbo without any factual reason has been and it's still and will remain it's albatross except you change this shallow way of reasoning In every where you find yourself while other strangers dwell in peace with their host only igbos keep having problems with the hosts. You know why? You guys are like empty barrels that makes most noise all sound no tangibility |

You guys said it we have been marginalised, but still we thrive and survive. I still put it to you, maybe when that day comes you remember what i said. Cant you see how both the yorubas, ibos and middlebelt were used and dumped? If it comess to science and technology i can bet you the yorubas dont see the ibos back. It was a yoruba officer was incharge of production of home made military wares but nothing was going but when Buratai brought in an ibo Officer there was advancement. You can google it,you see it. When Gen Ihejirika became Chief Boko boys laid low till the Northern elements forced Jonathan to remove him. Okonjo Iwuala under Obasanjo did wonders in economic sector. During the biafran war,the ibos with limited resources produved weapons and bpmbs like ogbunigwe, rpg but the nigerian govt was buying their weapons, couldnt produce one pistol with all the resources at their disposal These just few cos my aim is not to say who the strongest is but to redeem our land slavery and also call for confederation of the regions. Thank you for your constructive criticisms and arguements,i learnt something from you. Please think about my clarion call. b][/b] OmoEpe: |

Am not talking about superiority when i say if ibo die others will be in mess. Its our population, these extremists fear the ibos cos the ibos have the manpower to counter them,am been pratical not sentimental. Yes bro our leaders made mistakes, and i accept their mistakes. I dont defend them cos i cant cover bad when there is one but you have to know we all make mistakes. There is no need to hate the ibos cos ibos are not the real enemy. Imagine a nigeria without the Ibos, who do you think can stand the hausa/fulanis? Lets be realistic. I wholeheartedly accept the Niger Deltans as our brothers and sisters, afterall we have ancentral roots in some of their States. So my brother,if not anything for my words which am appealing to everyone to ignore any comment that will bring disunity amongst the west and South. Every tribe has Saboteurs,so i trust in future if the right ibo man comes up we support him and see the outcome. Will you take my hand as we walk on this thorny path to redemption? quote author=OmoEpe post=92286256] As appealing as you sound you need to first perish the thought of igbo superiority to other tribes All tribes are equal The false assumption made you lose the civil war so badly, you instead of partnering with SS you went there to dominate them hence they denied you access to the sea which was essential in winning the war. Rawhumper:Do not waste your time on these people who quote you. Nothing you say to the credit of Igbos will make sense to them. Leave them to their beliefs and opinions. Finally, think Biafra because that's where your survival lies. Shying away from to that name simply because people like those who qouted you earlier are unconformable with it makes you vulnerable to their antics. |

Thanks bro but am not shying away from anything. I understand your point but This was the mistake Ojukwu by declaring seccession,as the senior to Gowon he would have fought as one nigeria but his tactic led the world to abandon him and his cause. There is a time to use diplomacy and a time for the rod,but the last should be after lenghty exhausive diplomacy. I dont also clamour for violence,we have to look brother before we leap. We should remember the SUFFERING THE WOMEN and CHILDREN will PASS THRU as well as the HUMILIATION,TORTURE and RAPE OUR WOMEN will pass thru during conflicts. This is why am using to strategy to let other tribes join in our cause and push for confederation not total independence. We still need other regions,no man can be an island on his own, remember it was this kind of mistakes that led to the downfall of Biafra war. All we want is a harmonious society where equality will be the order of the day,it may be a uphill task but can be achieved when we work together. Thank you. quote author=Yujin post=92287226] Do not waste your time on these people who quote you. Nothing you say to the credit of Igbos will make sense to them. Johnjanrt:Oh! You finally reply, love that: if Gowon made an impact in Nigeria federal system plateau state inclusive i guess its like a prophet not honored in his own house...are you drunk or something how many ex president turned their state of origin into glass and diamonds, are they president to turn their state into London leaving others...lemme lecture you because i know you seriously daft; once you are the president of a nation or a country you have become the father of ALL and not your state alone. If Gowon acted and did what he did in the interest of the sovereign nation (Nigeria)he deserve an applause not condemnation. Wonder what people like you will do if given a slight opportunity to rule. I laughed when you mention OBJ and PMB...who laid the foundation for them to rule or govern. What have you have said if Nigeria lost the civil war and broke, nonentity like you would have blame it on Gowon for not fighting bravely but to doubting Thomases like you, he fought and he won but people like you never get satisfied...my brother u need koboko. |
