Books by Watchman Nee, starting with, "What shall this man do?" They changed my Christianity, by making me to know that there is more to Christianity than what is commonly heard in churches.

CzarChris:
I was glued by the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and a fervent follower of the philosopher "Niccolò Machiavelli". But upon becoming a Born Again Christian "The Holy Bible" has become my inspiration.

I just started reading the 48 Laws of Power too. Being a born-again Christian doesn't necessarily mean you can't be inspired by other books.

Unionised:

"Flowers in the Attic" by V C Andrews

One of those voluminous books that looked forbidden to a 13 year old me.

I was shocked that I could understand this "Adult" book.

Took me 7 months to complete and my life was forever changed.

Had to hunt for the sequels:
Petals in the Wind, and
Seeds of Yesterday.

My love for bestsellers and fiction was ignited.

So bad that I would read novels while preparing for exams.

What's this Flowers in The Attic about? A novel or a non-fiction work?

Lessons; Law is an inherent principle that regulate the nature of life and relationship within the creation of God. When you over dose yourself with grace and, start abusing some of these laws, success (fulfilment and a completion of original purpose by which you were created) will run away from you. 2. key to life is order and order come from the law. 3. You can never achieve or discover who you are or by what purpose you were created except you learn to know your creator. 4.The power of heavens can only be controlled by the principles of righteouness. 5. Don’t be deceived if you’re not a Christian you’re going to hell.

The year is 2020 not 1820. Nobody is going to hell no matter who or what they believe in.

Really, a can't pick a particular book and say, this book changed my life around, 'cause no singular book can embody in itself all matters applicable to life at every instance.

I tried 48 laws of power (didn't finish it)

Also tried 'how to win friends and influence people' (didn't finish it too)

I tried the five love languages (still didn't finish)

These books are really good.

NB: When I said I didn't finish it, I meant I didn't read it more than two times.

Unfortunately threads like this will barely hit fp. Is only those thread about bbnaija participants having sex they will push to fp.
As for me Gifted Hands is one of the best book I've read.

MODIFIED:

The OP didn't ask for religious books. Those of you mentioning Bible and Qur'an should stop it. We know these books are great but he wasn't asking about them.

Thats how they use to behave, mumu people. Even with all their bible and koran reading sef they are still terrible people angry

Lol. A lot of people are actually mentioned the Bible perhaps out of respect, which is the most hypocritical way of treating the Bible.
They hardly read it, they don’t study it, they only believe in their pastors and teachings.

To the Op, mine is No excuses -the power of self discipline by Brian Tracy. I literally took out a pen and note to jot down but was really disappointed. why?

Great you understand my point. grin
