Let me start first.
Mine is named The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life And Business. It's a book by an American reporter, Charles Duhigg. Prior to reading that book, I used to have some bad habits that keep re-occuring, sometimes unconsciously. The book helped me identified and change some of my "keystone habits" which were the fountain from which other habits emerged.
So folks, what is that great book that shaped your life or that made you realise something important?
The essence of this thread is help one another by sharing different books. Someone on this forum may desperately need to read one or some of the books you'll share to make a great difference in their life.

Think and Grow Rich and, Rich dad poor dad, back in 2007.

NamelessOGBENI:
1. Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan
2. The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey
3. The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson
4. Decoded by Shawn Carter
5. The Book of Sirach as contained in the Apocrypha
6. Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions by John Donne
7. How Europe Underdeveloped Africa by Walter Rodney

1. Made me to understand what the Christian journey is all about.
2. It talks about the will of man that cries for freedom, border much on modern hypocrisy observed in the church and man's nature generally.
3. This is a self help book to seperate what matters from those that seems to matters, it's like an approach to life.
4. This was an hip-hop influenced autobiography from the point of view of American legendary rapper Jay-Z, there are notes, tracks and videos about how each track is made and the thought process involved.
5. An eye opener to the way of life of Judaism as expounded in the Apocrypha.
6. A series of metaphysical verses and solemn poems on life generally
7. A well analyzed history of colonialism in Africa.

P.S; There are books I'll have love to mention but let me sit them out..

JayZ is my favourite rap artist.

Decoded has being on my 'to read list' for so long.

That's nice ..... grin

You won't regret it ... though certain people dread it saying that it makes people selfish and deadly ...
I only don't like as it's so much in circulation......

I see it as my Bible and I consult it whenever I have a problem.... cool

I am the kind of person that likes to pick out traits or a specific or specific things in life or situation or book....
So please don't expect me to write very long essays....

1. Art of War- know your self and your know enemy and you won't fear a thousand battles......
This affects even love or politics or day to day dealings.

When you know your strength and that of your enemy and your weakness and that of your enemy you won't have to fear a thousand battles....
But if you know just yourself and but not inclusive of your enemy then you'll suffer some losses in your battles....
Worst when you know neither yourself nor your enemy......

Lemme give an example with love/relationship....
As a lady, you want a particular guy.
Firstly, you are to know who you are, what you want, your strength and weakness.
Secondly you should as well study the guy you want etc. So that when you shoot your shot it'll move well with little or no crisis.

2. 48 Laws of power grin grin shocked
The book of life and death...the most powerful book I've read ....the chief of every other book....
Though it draws some of its strengths from other books it is still the greatest book I've read.

You can apply it anywhere .
Reading it alone without any other book can still make you powerful.
But I recommend you read other books so as to widen your perspective of life.

Every 48 law applies to our day to day activities irrespective of what it is.....
I can't really talk about each law but the book will make you powerful.
It'll show you how to plan to get power, how to get power and how to keep it.

Just read it by yourself.
Though sometimes you might be bored or you might not understand it, please the last thing you should do is to abandon the book.
You'll regret it.
Read and learn and ask questions when you feel lost.

Don't always announce to people you've read it because one of the greatest sources of power is people not knowing ur source of power.

Girls that read wide and are well in it, I rate them as top class.
Good luck.....
