Gbam my guy...am thinking of learning golang buh am soooo busy trying other cool stuff with JavaScript..am a full-stack developer (God help me) ok rephrased I know backend and frontend to an extent which could pass as industry standard.

Why don't you learn vue.js and bcome full-stack also..leave the mythrs of PHP to continue slaying with PHP in 2020

You've not been following up on the thread quite well. I'm arguing against PHP. I'm a full stack developer. I actually know vue, react, and riot very well. They're extensively used where I work. I'm saying knowing PHP and a dozen other languages , PHP is not the route to go .

I didnt quite complete my self education on Scala. Golang, Rust, PHP, Lua, Python, VB.NET, Crystal are my core

And if you want a fight between PHP's speed and dynamically typed language. You got many:

1. Lua is dynamically typed, but is way, way faster than PHP
2. Erlang is dynamically typed but is way, way faster than PHP
3. Python scripts on PyPy - way, way faster than PHP
4. Javascript - way, way faster than PHP

Lua has smaller system than PHP7, even you wouldn’t pick it
PHP 7 can compare python. You mentioned Pypy, why not just python?? Meanwhile PHP can be cache too to improve speed also.

So, I try to keep learning. Funny enough, it was when PHP messed me up in a performance critical application that I ran to Golang.
