It's been 11 years since the death of the leader of the Boko Haram sect. Mohammed Yusuf who was allegedly killed on July 31st, 2009 by the Police in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

The killing of Yusuf led to the escalation of the Boko Haram crisis that has today engulfed the entire North-East region where several thousands of people have been killed and millions of people either displaced from their homes or living in Internally Displaced Camps.

Eleven years later, the nation is still at the throes of war with not only Boko Haram terrorists, but with members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province, ISWAP, as well as unending banditry and kidnappings.

Our own president is busy 'defeating' Boko boys with more cash, pampering them with holiday in camps, clothing them with brown designer khaki and granting them immunity as repentant killers... then technically sending them back to jihad against the same people he preside over

Ihejirika would be the last General that genuinely wanted the terror to end. He fought them so hard because it became a do or die for the Jonathan administration to redeem itself of the "Weak" toga APC cast on his government. But we all saw the rebellion from northern leaders including buhari himself.

Yeah, the major reason terrorism is flourishing today is the fact that we have sheeps leading our armies. Both at the political level and actual battlefield level. We all know that our Nigerian army is not as weak as is being portrayed today, but like any other military set up anywhere in the world, the greatest weakpoint of a soldier is that he has to take orders from any nonentity who finds himself at the top of the command chain.
What is most frightening today is that even if Buhari leaves today, he'll most likely be replaced by an equally or even less competent person.

Let me tell you, I have lost a loved one to BH. I have also encouraged another loved one to leave the Army immediately. As we spoke, he just started matching out of the camp into the streets and by 6am the next morning, he was in onitsha.
