Deadlytruth:
The mere fact that you agree that the original royal lineage of Benin was the Ogiso lineage punctures all the conjectures you laboured to sell above. The title "Ogiso" has no meaning in Yoruba hence the first Ogiso couldn't have descended from Oraminyan which is clearly a Yoruba title. Moreso the word 'Igodomigodo' which stands for the original name of Benin Kingdom has no meaning in Yoruba as well. So your theory above fails.
i have not said ogiso is yoruba I only mentioned that yoruba and bini are related which is super true my theory has not fallen at all, you kept saying oduduwa fell from the sky imasuen izoduwa was even worse he said yoruba people are uncivilized people which ekaladerhan gave civilisation the issue is how come oranmiyan took ogun and ayelala to bini this is where arrogance is coming a similar trait you are espousing today by the way this history is relatively new as it started from oba erediauwa prior to that oba akenzua attended meetings with yoruba obas and it isn't about that why are bini historians afraid of healthy debates with their yoruba counterparts without resorting to insults?

If Ogisos were not Yorubas as you agree above, then how come they are related to Yorubas? It is like saying that Yorubas are not Hausas yet they are related to Hausas by blood. This is the biggest joke of the year.

When I say Edo and Delta, I am referring to the Edoid tribes alone and not the Igboid or Yoruboid ones who are a minority among them. Itsekiris are not Edos by ancestry. Only their royal lineage is Edo.
Contrary to your claim in your second paragraph, there are really no Yorubas who migrated to Edo to take up Bini names. This is a fallacy that had been debunked in many threads here with the purveyors going silent for want of superior counter argument.
That friend of yours is probably a victim of Ignorance about his home likely because he doesn't visit home. You should have asked him why his native Okpameri/Uneme/ Igarra /Okpe/Sasaro, etc is not mutually intelligible to Yoruba at all.
u are wrong actually professor sophie oluwole is a bini woman dat naturalised in ondo and a practitioner of ifa people of the former kingdoms migrated seamlessly another friend of mine surname igun has benin heritage but naturalised in ogun state you are being deeply political which is affecting your viewpoint now dsame thing with many families in akoko edo that have an original yoruba heritage now to crown my argument sowore in a recent interview confirmed that his family heritage is actually from ilesha previous surname subuloye who settled among the point ijaw people to some people ethnicity is really flexible

oranmiyan is clearly yoruba dere is no mistake in what I say and the last ogiso, ogiso owodo was childless we keep over flogging this issue because we have ego issues in Africa, you can never see any yoruba argue that oba of lagos is not from bini we know he is from bini but he is our oba, the queen of England is from Germany, the last queen of russia, Catherine was from Germany that is where we should not let tribalism eat our mind up unfortunately we are africans and we are tribalistic, by the way I dont believe oduduwa is from mecca but according to the other of kings in ife oranmiyan was the sixth king and grandson of oduduwa and last son of ogun

He attempted to get them in too but just that those ones refused and chose the Midwest option.
Recall that it was even he who sort of upgraded the Olu of Itsekiri to Olu of Warri against the subsisting tradition of Warri people.
iwerre is a corruption of iwure after properly examining itshekiri and yoruba language, their language is similar to ijebu and ilaje even d spirituality is very close to ifa with slight differences look everybody has a right to resist from time to time I dont lose sleep over things like that I am more of a modern yoruba nationalist, we have opc in some places in warri we have opc in sapele too and even in bini and olubori we have people in this territories that are not ashamed to call us allies this days everybody in the south wants to be igbos which is shameful and may not end well

The bolded is an insult to the non-Wazobians of the South. Please refrain from making such utterance in future. The South-South people resist the attempt by both Igbos and Yorubas to superimpose their identity on them. They rather want to remain their original self hence the resist being included in both Oduduwa and Biafra. The presence of OPC in Sapele, Benin, and other enclaves in the South-South doesn't make these places Yoruba settlements any more than the presence of IPOB in same places make them Igbo territories. In Magboro, Ogun State there is an Igbo dominated community with an Igbo monarch, I guess that makes Magboro a town founded by Igbos? In Lagos, there are a lot of Igwes whom Jimi Agbaje even promised in his 2015 to make equal in status to Baales in his attempt to attract sympathy votes from Igbo voters. Had he won and proceeded to fulfil the promise, would that have made Lagos an aboriginally Igbo land?

You are only trying to shy away from the crux of this matter which is simply that the political encounters between Bini ancient Kings and their Ife colleagues doesn't pass for Binis having Yoruba ancestry or vice versa.
How the childlessness of the last Ogiso impart Ogiso lineage with Yoruba ancestry and also makes Binis and Yorubas ancestral brothers is what you have not been able to to clearly and logically explain. You are the one guilty of tribalistic ego.

You are rather the one being political in your views, if not, how can you yourself agree that someone of a non-Yoruba origin went to a Yoruba community and naturalized there, and then you argue that such naturalization translates to him having Yoruba ancestry? Do you read what you write at all? Are you sure you know the dictionary meaning of the word "naturalization"?
The only actually Yoruba people ever to exist in Akoko-Edo are the Imeris who actually speak a dialect of Yorubas Language and don't understand any of the native Akoko-Edo Languages of Igarra, Okpameri, Uneme, Okpe, Sasaro, Ikakumo, etc.
For feeling odd and strange among other Akoko-Edo tribes with whom they were together in Bendel State, they had been agitating to join their kit and kin in Ondo State and the 1991 states creation by IBB came as an opportunity to them to realize this agelong wish which they really cashed on and got carved into Ondo State where they now belong. If Akoko-Edos are Yorubas, then why were Imeri people having a feeling of oddity among them? Please answer this question and don't dodge it.

Then above all, it is only online that Yorubas peddle this attache theory on Edos whereas physically on-ground they call Edos omo-Igbo because to the average Yoruba person, if you are neither Hausafulanis nor Yoruba, then you are automatically Igbo.
When they see an Urhobo, Ijaw, Bini, Isoko, Esan, Akoko-Edo, Etsako, Ibibio, Efik; etc they label them omo-Igbo.
The wife of my former boss, an Ijebu woman, once told me to my face that all my explanations about the difference of Edo/Delta from Igbo does not make sense to any truly Yoruba person because they see all of us as Igbos since we don't speak Yoruba.

there is nothing like edo/delta....your logic defies time

What we have is edo state ( subgroup of yorubas) and Delta consisting of itshekiri another yoruba sub group, then igbos,Urhobos, Ijaws, isokos...case closed.

Land grabber in action. You want to reclassify Urhobos, Isokos and even Ijaws as Igbos. There is no illogicality and reviosionism that the quest for other peoples' lands and resources can't lead to.
Your ipobian lust for crude oil that makes you try to separate Edoid tribes will always fail and remain dead on arrival. The earlier you learn to limit your Biafra agitation to your Igbo land, the better for you. Or better still look towards Oduduwa whom your Obi of Onitsha has told you are your actual ancestors.

Oga, your attempt to rewrite history will not change the fact that Igbo is the actual Yoruba subgroup whose Language has a lot of Yoruba words as incontrovertible evidence to Obi of Onitsha's affirmation of their co-Oduduwa descendant status with Yorubas.

yorubas and not only binis but the rest of southern nigeria are ancestral brpthers due to naturalisation, intermarriage, in some ethnic groups like itshekiri and bini spirituality, we must learn to forge alliances in africa

now u are wrong when u say yorubas are trying to annex edo that is not true infact if there is any group trying to do that its the igbos through three enyioba(enemy of oba) some tout named murphy face, uwa sofia and one guy named armstrong

yoruba(conservative) currently is only interested in fast tracking amotekun outfit into a strong fighting force and d rest of southern nigeria to get off our back

but yes i do think southern nigeria is very much related

btw asides professor sophie oluwole and toyin aimakhu a lot of yoruba and edo people naturalised between one another, this is just d truth i dont know why u take it really personal yoruba street in benin city has been dere even before nigeria was formed, the itshekiris in ologbo in edo state have been dere for a long time over 400 years infactmy close friend(an itshekiri guy told me about the issue first hand report) my only hope is we sort our issues amicably

The bigotry you allege in the first bolded is only a reprisal to the discrimination, derogation, bigotry and oppression which all midwestern minorities suffered in the old Western Region that made them pull out of it. Before being labelled Kobokobo in the Old Western Region, there is no record of any Edo person provoking Yorubas with any derogatory utterance or bigoted action.

The second bolded is an insult which I am warning you about for the second time. Igbos are equally as treated with disdain as Yorubas in Benin because of the attempts by both of them to drag some Edo tribes into their Oduduwa and Biafra. We can't seek friendship with Igbos who are responsible for the structural alteration that caused all the problems in Nigeria today as revealed by history. If anything, only you Yorubas have some soft spot for Igbos as it is only in Yorubaland that Igbos are voted to represent constituencies in both state and federal elections. As I speak, there is an Igbo man voted into Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency. Another three are in the Federal House of Reps on behalf of a constituency in Lagos. In fact it is on record that those parliamenterians who jumped on a table and broke the mace all to frustrate the motion to impeach Akintola back then in the Western Region were Igbos voted into the Western Region Legislature by Yorubas themselves. So if anything, it is you Yorubas that have always sought friendship with Igbos and sacrificed your own interests in pursuit of that. Azikiwe's aspiration to become the first premier of the West had a lot of Yorubas in support of it despite the fact that Igbos had never made a reciprocal gesture to you Yorubas. As we speak, a lot of Yorubas are in the forefront of 2023 Igbo presidency agitation. Fayose visited Kanu in prison even when his own brother governors of the SE abandoned him. I can go on and on. So if you want to know which tribe has sought friendship with Igbos most, then look at the mirror.

On your being labelled as cowards by Igbos, it is due to the alleged betrayal of them by Awolowo. And this has nothing to do with Edos as Awolowo wasn't an Edo man. Beyond this, the coward label Igbos hang on you yorubas has continued to stick because rather than debunk the Awolowo betrayal allegation with available superior contrary facts as to what really transpired between him and Ojukwu, you waste your time chasing after theories of some phantom founding of Edo towns by Yorubas. In your attempt to be nice to Igbos in pursuit of this fake Southern unity which Awolowo sought in vain and which the present generation of Yorubas also erroneously believe in, you leave unchallenged all the revisionist tales Igbos throw around against you Yorubas. So how won't other tribes take it that you are really the cowards they call you when they don't see any counter argument from you setting the records straight on the alleged Awolowo betrayal?
Just visit NL threads about the War and you could even see some Yoruba monickers admitting that Awolowo betrayed Ojukwu and even also admitting that Awolowo betrayed Zik for allegedly usurping Zik's premiership victory with a tribal clarion call all in Yorubas belief in this rather fake Southern unity. So whose fault is is that you people continue to be viewed as cowards? Be honest!.

The third bolded is by your admittance, an evidence that even your claims about Bini history are full of fallacies.
Per your last bolded, Edos are rational people who give back to you only what you give to them. If it appears they are acting like Igbos towards you, then check yourself. You must have provoked them to it. Thank God you used the expression "starting to act" ... meaning that they weren't doing so before now. Why not ask yourself why now?

So if you want to know which tribe has sought friendship with Igbos most, then look at the mirror.

if igbos have a strong voice then its because of the edos, urhobos, ijaws, ikwerre even itshekiri and the liberal yorubas who are becoming a minority by the day

igbo is a governor in delta state even if urhobos are the majority in edo state u pipo are selling ur lands everyday to igbos in rivers ikwerre has not given ijaw people a chance to rule so in all honesty with regards dese southern unity i think u people should check yourselves more especially urhobo people because we warned them

i prefer an edo man holding political office in lagos than an igbo, but we yorubas have tried to build an alliance with u guys guess what we are met with disrespect bigotry and hatred each time the glory days of pa rewane anthony enahoro odigie ofeimum has all gone has d yoruba man finds himself encircled dese days so bro what i can say is we are all in d igbo problem together

@ strike, nobody needs edo is biafra and secondly igbo mann doesn't know edo is existing..

thirdly...the right place for edo is oduduwa. igbos have nnothing in common with Yorubas be it name, kinship, tradition...nothingelse rather it is bini that is writing trash of unconnected ancestry that has never sail.
it will be an anathema seeing an Edo man in biafra....no Igbo man will ever agree to that unless those playing chess board game...

finally, stop peddling your imagination....edos has no business in biafra...stick to oduduwa and people you have common history with...that's how future country works....
