Why the fuss about IPPIS

It is more than what you think. Almost all the workers don't know their salaries as it fluctuates more than NEPA. Someone on over 100k can receive less than 5k in one month. I have witnessed this first hand. The system is actually a mess for now

This strike is very important and needed, it's just that nasu is handicapped by the pandemic for now. Imagine getting a salary of #10000 at d end of the month from stupid IPPIS instead of ****. This life no just balance

Can govt. also adopt a policy such that anytime any union go on strike their salaries are suspended till they resume. Especially ASUU and co. these guys go on strike and resume at will because they have nothing to lose unlike the nigeria students. angry angry
Re: NASU, SSANU Declare Strike Over IPPIS by jolyment: 7:54am On Aug 07, 2020
FG should include all the Unions peculiarities and necessary allowances for the staff. All the irregularities in the salaries should be investigated and corrected.
Re: NASU, SSANU Declare Strike Over IPPIS by okezman(m): 8:04am On Aug 07, 2020
There are some university staff whose salary has been cut by over 25% for no reason. There are allowances that were coming before ippis that have stopped, ippis is a nightmare.

Ideally, comments are best made sensibly. if you know how inefficient the IPPIS has been, you wouldn't say that.
What if I tell you some tetiary institution staff have being earning irregular amounts as salaries, while others gets paid for some months and not paid for other months?
Then Government is not being straight as Different picture is being paint by them as regard the IPPIS

So you really think ASUU is collecting salaries?
They are collecting money, however, they don't know if the money is salary or not. Just like NASU/SSANU, the money is inconsistent every month. In fact, no one in the university system know their salaries again since this IPPIS thing

you better be thinking of private universities now if you can afford the fees cos the FG doesn't care about education anymore, the suffering we uni workers are going through since we joined ippis is harrowing. the whole thing is a complete mess.

For long the Nigerian students have been the one sacrificing their time for the so called agitation of these people. If indeed they care for the reformation of the educational sector I don't think sacrificing their salaries is too much to stake. The Nigerian students have been sacrificing their time (which is more valuable than money) without their consent/considerations for far too long. What have all the strikes embarked upon all these years achieved or how has it benefit the average Nigerian student?? angry angry angry

Don't know about ILO. But I am sure Nigeria is a sovereign state and as such by consensus can execute laws and policies within her jurisdiction that serve the greater good of her pple.

I am very aware about the bolded and as well aware that the FG have come out to explain and give room for those affected to state their case while they make effort to investigate and rectify accordingly. If it is some it definitely means it is not deliberate and that should give room for the benefit of the doubt. Even when there was no IPPIS they still look for smth to go on strike mtchewww. angry angry

technically they are already sacrificing their salaries, do you know some universities staff have not been paid since January for no just cause while most of those getting salaries are being paid ridiculous amounts month by month? aside crazy deductions which were never there, my deduction aa a non academic is 109k per month, what you think is left of my salary after this? the point now is that if something is not done soon, all these universities will be privatised, then your fees will range between 400 to 600k ,are you ready for this? remember that the children of most people in power are not schooling here so they don't care if you don't go to school or not.
i agree that most strikes have not achieved due to one reason which compromise on the part of the union leaders who would have been settled at the meeting, it's a terrible vicious circle, I'm doing everything possible that my children don't school around here God helping me.

The truth is not being said here of IPPIS, it actually exposed a lot of the corruption going on in the educational sector. The only thing that can be said is that for now it comes late being the first week in the next month.
