Are you from Igbo clan in Edo State (Igbanke) Kanu spoke about?

***Assembly members didn’t sit in my room ― APC candidate

****Obaseki is a liability to PDP ― Ganduje

CHAIRMAN, Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mai Malla Buni on Friday said that President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the governorship candidate of the party in the September 19 elections, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Buni, who stated this while briefing State House correspondents after presenting the APC candidate to the President said that Buhari gave his blessings to the candidate.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu at the briefing debunked the allegation that 14 members-elect of the Edo State House of Assembly sat in his house on Thursday to impeach the Speaker of the House and elect a new one.

He said: “Let me debunk the statement that 17 members of the State House of Assembly sat in my sitting room, it is not true.”

He also said that there was no truth in the insinuations that President Buhari did not want to see him, alleging that it was a falsehood being spread by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Also speaking, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State described his Edo State counterpart and candidate of the PDP in the September elections, Godwin Obaseki, as a liability to the PDP.

“I can assure you that Governor Obaseki is a liability to the PDP. I can assure you that we are contesting against a governor who failed most woefully.”

Edo people never voted for PDP in the last election and even the coming one, I hate the way PDP fools itself always, this same man you are fighting for was the same you appraised his performance few months ago and gave him F9 in all key sectors of the economy, the highest mistake was to give him your ticket because the TAX COLLECTORS needed money, try and use your members to win election not buying over other people's mandate.

Same was done in Ondo through the deputy governor and that one over estimated his strength and failed woefully, please enough of this mockery on democracy where 7 is greater than 17,most politicians are school drop outs

They all lose ....don't drag the President into this , he has never been involve in any Guber election , he made it clear in Ogun and Imo where they seems to be infighting btw two APC loyals by saying vote for your choice irregardless of the candidates in his own party ...

So the President of a Nation must be involve in a governor campaign to grant it legitimacy. Is the authority to govern a set of people under a democratic setting not derived from the people they govern? The version of democracy we practice in this part of the world is clearly antithetical to common sense.

They want to install dollars sense into him, since the last time Ize Iyamu used naira he failed to take over the state assembly. That's the popular remote control method buhari did brag about. When Obaseki gives you a terrible blow, you have no option than to visit Abuja for check up.

You are not only a Prof, you are also a smart one.

There is plenty of street level work needed continuously to dislodge the coNrade wannabe godfather Oshi-omo-Ole. Are Edo youths ready?

FLASHBACK: Oshiomhole once wanted building named after Obaseki for ‘selfless service’

Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), once said Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo, worked for the state using his brain and creativity.

Oshiomhole, who praised the governor during the governorship campaign of 2016, said a building at the government house should be named after Obaseki for his selfless service.

Oshiomhole said while he was governor of Edo, Obaseki helped him build the economy team of the state with his network.

“I know my limit. He knows his limit. Godwin Obaseki has worked for seven and half years for the people of Edo state, using his brain, creativity, quietly, not making noise,” Oshiomhole said.

“He sits in the office of the economic team which he built using his network of friends inside the heart of government house without demanding one naira.

“A man like that who will not ask me to give him contracts, but will promise me, comrade, you just do the thinking, we will create the means to actualise your thoughts. And to his credit today, check the books of Edo state, we did not build new structures in government house with government money. That economic team office was built through Godwin’s network. Today, it remains a permanent asset of the state government.

“I want us to be calling that building Godwin Obaseki building. I don’t see your opponent Ize-Iyamu being able to say that. In 2007, check the records, Ize-Iyamu was hiding from EFCC. He didn’t not vote. How can somebody who didn’t vote claim that he made me.

“If you have to look at Godwin and his credentials and you look at a man whose only work, by his CV, was a student and rusticated for two years, he read law but he is not a barrister. That is his foundation. I never gave him government job. Lucky Igbinedion’s mother was reported to have slapped Ize-Iyamu for misleading her son. He tried it with me, but we kept him away. Nothing near government circle. No access to public funds.

“Look at the road to his house, in our books, was dual carriage way. They took the money, constructed the road to his house and stopped. Although we have liquidated the godfathers politically, the entire political family will be liquidated.”
