I'm not an expert but with the little experience I've garnered in my farm, plantain fruits usually comes out after 9-10th month and by my calculation, yours is 7months old.
Cassava do not really have much impact on the growth of your plantain because it grows rapidly than the sticks and store much water to its roots when it rains and they're taller to absorb more sunlight to ripen their fruits.

Can you upload the plantain current state, may be more experienced farmers can render more advise?

Neva plant cassava with Plantain. they don't cooperate together because cassava is a heavy feeder, it will stint the plantain growth

best crop to intercrop with Plantain
at early growth stage:- corn, tomatoes, pepper and veggies in general
canopy stage:- cocoyam and to an extent shoko nothing else

The cassava was planted in May (2 months +).
But I want them removed by September anyhow

I will expect that they should be way taller than this. I cant speak absolutely until further inspection but competition from the cassava may be affecting their growth. Maybe you can supplement this with direct manure/fertilizer application preferably chicken manure.

Definitely.
Making arrangement for new suckers to occupy the remaining section then i will apply organic manure all round.
I also want to add some cocoyam and okra.

I am planning to start a plantain farm soon, i will like to know if its advisable to cultivate a plantain farm without irrigation, What are the risks to avoid when planning to plant around MAY/JUNE so as to harvest during peak period......hope 5 acres of plantain isnt too much for a beginner to start with........and finally what is the approximate cost of cultivating an acre of plantain farm in southwest part of nigeria from planting to harvest..... thanks

the moment you sight rain pls plant. people usually say it's doom if you plant your plantains in September because it will meet the dry season and dry up and I'll just laugh at them. I planted two of my plantains i farms last in different locations in the thick of the August break last year. the part farm that got the regime of fertilizer application I explained to you made it through the dry season without breaking sweat with the other barely survived. I lost 80% of that farm berfore the rains began and I had to replant

for fertilizer application, a match box quantity on both sides will be enough every two weeks. but be careful not to apply too near the stem else YOU WILL KILL YOU CROP MOST ESPECIALLY IF DEALING WITH UREA

what type of npk is suitable for plantain ?
also, is it applied together with urea? i will appreciate it if u will guide me on how to go about it

(6- maturity) urea together with 20:10:10 shud be used I alternating dose every 2 weeks
