On Sunday, the Presidency alerted Nigerians and the international community that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is using the alleged killing of Christians to wage war against Nigeria.

The Presidency said that available intelligence showed that the IPOB was using the cover of Christianity – and calling for a US Special Envoy to be appointed to stop the “genocide” of Christians in Nigeria, however, noting that the real purpose is to drive a wedge between the Nigeria government and its US and UK/European allies. The point is, foreign media’s are trying to make it seem like only Christians are being killed to create division between southern and northern Nigeria. Like what they did in Sudan, which caused them to split. And it hasn’t gone well for either side since they split. Hence why we need to know that the media is a risk to our nation and we need to understand that division is not the right option for the well-being of the country and its people as a whole.
