If maybe we all call a spade, a spade, this world would be a better place.

What he did was fraud
He scammed his rider
He stole from him

Him starting the trip was not the issue. He drove down to Berger, parked and negotiated with four different riders and carried them all the way to Ogba before he ended the trip...and to you, that's not fraudulent, but a moment of madness

If it was a rider now, I can imagine how here would be turned upside down.

Or maybe those riders scamming drivers are also having moments of madness too
No point saying anything again.

I couldn’t have said it better.

Just call the rider guy back and refund him his money with apology. Settle out of uber court. This apps company are not driver friendly. Especially if driver was first to report. And write to u er as quickly as possible to clear your name before the rider rubbishes it.

This is for everyone.

First, I started by admitting to the wrong did.

I was just furious probably because of some bad ride previously experienced. I called this guy twice and took time to explain to him and affirmed him he don't be charged should he cancel I even went further to let him know his destination is off my way cause of curfew (inside Berger). Those of you saying it's wickedness, who is more wicked after all these explanation I gave to him. If police sieze my car what would I say to my partner?? Ok I should give police all the money I've worked all week long abi

I've had some bad experiences like this that didn't turn out well for me at the end of the day. Yes you win some and lose some, but do I have to always be at yhe loosing end all the time? I've done about 8km PU distance just because rider refused to cancel in which my account has bewn flagged for h8gh cancellation.

Now, my balance as at yesterday was above -N15k so cancelling a card trip would have put my account in a very high risk of being blocked. My account was suspended on Wednesday last week s8mply because a rider cancelled after I'd arrived and was charged. Uber said it was because my cancellation rate was above 7%. Let me stop here. So, All of these put together was why I took that decision to start the trip without the guy.

Well, as I woke up this morning I don forget and my conscience has prinked me and I sent him a text apologising and asking for his acct details to trx back his money. If him like make him send if him like make him no send. Me I don move on.

Thank God I eat the N7500 bonus after completing 32trips for the week so my balance is now reduced to about 3k.

Omooshodi thanks jor...na only I understand well but that doenst mean we r bad people.

Bad people don't have a conscience and I'm not a hypocrite who only share the good experience like every other guy here if I do good I don't say it but I come out bold to say all the bad I think I may have done that's felicity0001 for you all. And in any case it goes I make sure never regret my actions.
but man you said the trip was Card trip and it has been adjusted back to zero naira.......then why are you saying..you will call the guy to refund his money......are economizing some things here

I somehow understands how the app works. Uber charges if a rider cancels after five minutes, only if the driver was on his way to pick up, he doesn't necessarily have to arrive at pickup before you can get charged after five minutes. If the driver is not moving at all, the rider will not be charged for cancellation after five minutes, very unlikely. And if the driver is heading to a different direction from the point of pickup and rider cancels after five minutes, he may likely not get charged also.

Last week, I was going to pick up someone at Ikoyi, I figured that I will be stuck in an endless traffic after dropping him off at Osborne Forshore, a short trip, I had to cancel it myself because I was already heading towards his direction. I know he would have been charged if I asked him to cancel. To avoid that, I canceled it myself and moved on.

Usually if I'm not going like that, I will ask riders to cancel and refund them immediately. If am not interested in the trip, I still refund them if I didn't ask them to cancel. Uber removed the refund rider part from my app long ago grin. I refund a lot, just don't like taking what I didn't work for unnecessarily. I only charge for cancellations that I feel are justified, if a rider doesn't show, stubbornly refuses to cancel at the right time and make me drive to pickup.

As for Felicity, since Uber has adjusted the fare and didn't send you a message or block your account, I think the matter is settled for now. I don't really judge people or get too critical about their actions, we are all humans and we all have our moments of madness. It's not a fraudulent act like some folks here are making it seem even though what you did cannot be justified. You just need to be careful going forward. This is already in your record and may lead to an outright ban if this happens again in the nearest future. No need of reaching out to the guy since he has been refunded and Uber is already aware of the matter. Just my two cents though.
Bless your heart my brother.

Who no go no nogrin

I can't count numbers of times I've refunded riders or ask uber not to charge for my cancellations, coming here to say it is like trying to make me look like a saint. How about transferring back money? I've done over 70k accommunilated transfers riders sent more than once back to them.

Abeg I no get straight to shalaye jor.

To all haters, I say hi!

Please don’t get me wrong ma. Some people are used to the Kazeem way and may find it a bit hard to pay 5k per hour. Let’s say a repair will take upto 3/4 hours that’s 15-20k on service charge alone.

The last time I was at Oyingbo to fix steering rack and some other stuffs, the guy started working on my car around 9am, he finished around 3pm, that’s about 6hours, I only paid 8k for workmanship.

Good thing about your place is that it won’t take that long to have everything I did there done. You have enough hands and power tools to make the job easy. Might not even be upto two hours if all the parts are readily available. cool

Ah, I see the misunderstanding. The hours is not based on how long we actually take. It's on how long the job should take an average competent technician. So if the industry standard is 3 hours and for some reason we take 10, you only pay for 3. Time to get parts etc is not charged to customer. For example, give me year and model for your car and I'll tell you how long it should take to do the steering rack.

I was at one event center to pick up a rider.
Rider turned out to be the chef for the owambe. Rider wants to pack all her loads into my car. Even gas cylinder and that big iron burner that they use for those big big pots. I was so furious  that I wanted to react and tell her that I'm not going but the little asshole in me whispered and gave me an idea of what to do.
So I allowed her with the help of two of her boys to load their stuffs inside my trunk and the remaining one at the back seat to the extent that there was only a space for just one person at the back. Even the little space would not contain one person comfortably.

As if that was not enough, madam chef told one of the boys to lap the other one. Me was just standing by the side watching them do their thing because I already knew what I wanted to do.
At that point, my rear bumper was about to kiss the ground.

Chef : Oga we are ready come and start the trip.
Me : I'm not going again because of too much loads.
Chef : But it was a driver like you that brought us here with all these loads.
Me : No vex. I no know say the loads plenty like this.
Chef : So why did you allow us to take the time and pain to load and now you want us to unload everything ?
Me : No vex.
They started unloading... me return to my watching position until they were done.
As them suffer me, make me burn fuel to come do the work of a truck, nothing do me if I make them sweat small.
The thunder wey go fire that driver wey carry all those loads still dey do press up for national stadium.

An eye for an eye grin

She got into the car for me to start propelling.

R. Please enter this marsha car park, I need to get some tin
M. Straight face, temptated to talk, but remind myself, it will b better to get home in one peace, already pick a battle date with one rider today

She came back after some mins and I zoom to take a turn just after doing that to Ogunlana
