JAMB Announces New Date For 2020 Post-UTME Screening by oshozondii: 4:11pm On Aug 10, 2020
The 2020/2021 post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination screening will commence in Nigeria’s higher institutions on September 7.

The agreement was reached at a meeting between the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary institutions on Monday.

Registrar of JAMB, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, who made the announcement, said the screening would now hold between September 7 and November 18.

Earlier, the board had issued a guideline for all tertiary institutions to begin their admission with effect from August 20.

Oloyede said the adjustment in the date would allow students taking the 2020 O’ level examinations to be able to participate in the screening.

He said, “Presently as you are aware, WAEC starts the Senior School Certificate Examination on August 17, it will go on till September 7.

“Similarly, on September 21 or thereabout, NABTEB will commence its examination that will go on till on the 15 of October, and immediately after that, NECO starts on the 5th and will hold till 18 of November.

“Rather than making candidates run, particularly, when they will have to write their school certificate exam in different towns and rush to university elsewhere for post-UTME, like somebody rushing from Sokoto to Ibadan for post-UTME, we believe as a custodian of the highest sector of the education system, we should avoid that.

“For those (institutions) who want to take post-UTME, that cannot be earlier than the 7th of September and it will be held twice – September 7 to October 4, and then it will be held for the second time on the 18 November to mop up those who are taking their school certificate examination.”

Who is dishing out all these nonsense dates . Are schools opening for the exercise? How about this year's WASSCE? undecided. Or are they telling us schools will more or less reopen next month undecided

Good, people will have to re adjust their life pattern. Those things we thought were indispensable are no longer relevant today

Those that have uploaded result before, I mean those that have done GCE in the past and then uploaded it because they thought they won't be able to pick awaiting result. What will happen to them now? Because my sister is among those that will start waec on the 17th of this month and she uploaded her past result because of fear they won't be admitted since waec won't be ready. And the result ain't that excellent, it is mostly filled with "C" and I am sure the WAEC she wanna do now, she is gonna ace her papers at least "B's" and "A's"

Will they be allowed to remove their old result and pick awaiting result?

Re: JAMB Announces New Date For 2020 Post-UTME Screening by HeavenlyHolines(m): 5:52pm On Aug 10, 2020
The issue is not about post utme screening, the education system needs an overhauling. we have to change our curriculum because most course are becoming obsolete in useless in the 21st century. we have more graduates every year but we don`t see the impacts in the society. most maths teachers r engineers who are suppose to be on the field, BCH, MCM, AEB, PBC etc are science teachers in private schools instead of them to be in the lab. everybody wants to go to the university because of the name and title whereas education is also Informal. Most courses we learn in the university are suppose to be done outside or in the field.

This shouldn't have been a problem. Universities could still have conducted a distant e-post utme so that Nigerian corrupt fathers and mothers would help their children write the test and expose their fictitious claims of being extra bright in pry school grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

He cancelled post utme because of the outrageous fees most tertiary institutions charges. In the first place post utme should be scrapped,it is a mere mockery of Jamb
