When I was a student, the government was paying $550 for each of my kids. That's not feeding a citizen. The government is investing in them, because they know my kids are future tax payers.

Now I don't need that money anymore cos my family income is over $200k a year.

I pay so much tax now and don't care about what government does with it cos the system is almost perfect.

People that collect employment insurance have paid into it sometimes in their life, so as you can see the government is not feeding them per se. It's their money.
