It is like a surprise to note that someone could build a house (home) which has 400 rooms. OMG! How can you live in the entire sections of that house? I bet you can never know the entire happenings in that house. This is a jumbo house to be precised. Taking a look at this house, you might think that it is a five star hotel, but its not. It belongs to a citizen of Nigeria in the South Eastern part of the country.



The 400 room estate named Camp Meya is owned by the famous Abia State governor Orji Uzor Kalu who is currently a Senator in the Federation. This huge amazing structure was built in 1998 at Igbere Bende LGA in Abia State which was his hometown. An extensive review of the gigantic and beautiful nature of this building classifies it as a "World of its own", this is quite unbelievable.


The Land mass is so large that it contains a football pitch, a golf course, a standard Olympic Swimming pool, a sports center, a lawn tennis court, a filling station, ATM machine, police post, a Bush bar, a mosque, a Church, Several gardens, a clinic, Children's center, military detachment, basket ball court and many more interesting structures. This is superb, in fact it is really a city on its own.




Further detailed assessment shows that the house has a 5000 capacity hall, 12 room presidential logde, Over 36 large sized sitting rooms, 187 bedroom section, 102 cool toilets, 22 large kitchens, 76 advanced bathrooms and a 36 grand logde for all governors of the State. This is the biggest house I have ever seen in my life to be frank with you.



Orji Uzor Kalu named the estate after his lovely daughter Neya. In my research, many believed that he built this house using the governmens wealth whereas few were on the contrary. Sincerely, Orji Uzor Kalu is a well educated and wealthy politician born in Abia State on the 21st April 1960. He is listed among the most influential politician in the Eastern zone of the country. His net worth is estimated to be 600 million US Dollars which is equivalent to 219,302,292,071.53 in Nigerian currency (Two hundred and Nineteen billion, Three hundred and Two million, Two hundred and Ninety two thousand, Seventy One Naira, Fifty three Kobo). He is quite a big business mogul who deals on the trading sector. He is a self made man with diversified businesses in the country. According to Forbes, he was listed as the 50th Richest African man in 2015 and he will surely rise to a greater height.




His political life was disrupted by the government when he was filed and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to all the 39 count charges brought against him in 2019. It was noted that he was guilty of 7.76 billion fraud when he was the Official governor of Abia state. The Judge (Idris) who handled the case, also stipulated that he would forfeit some of his assets to the federal government. Six months after his case, Orji Uzor Kalu was set free on the ground that Judge Mohammed Idris has no legal might to decide the case since it has been moved to the Court of Appeal.




Senator Orji Uzor Kalu regained his freedom and returned back to the Senate house. His wealth still marvel most people especially his 400 room estate.


For some he worked for it but to many he got it from the treasury of the state
