I am against killing somebody for saying something silly about Allah or Mohammed. More so, being a Nigerian citizen, the superiority of the constitution to sharia law should give him reprieve.

However, my question is why should somebody blatantly and foolishly make a blasphemous statement when he knows the consequences in an Islamic society. Sing about love, life, corrupt politicians, etc but stay away from the 'trouble zone'. I think the condemned fellow is an emotionally unintelligent person.

The truth is that WISDOM is key in life. A wise man understands his environment. Even Jesus Christ was very carefully in choosing his battles with the Pharisees because he knew that any mistake would truncate his mission on earth before the appointed time.

By the way, Bashir Ahmed like most Muslims knows that it is too dangerous to condem the death penalty openly. It is about personal safety.

Oga, it's this your victim-blaming that gives these people the ginger to do what they do.

What is bad is bad. No ifs and no buts. Freedom of speech is guaranteed in the Nigerian constitution and even where it has a law on blasphemy, the penalty is a two year jail term. The penalty for hate speech is N500,000. How can you then justify the possible killing of someone because he said something about someone's prophet.

If your religion requires you to kill or main someone to defend it, that religion is rubbish!

Even more, we should PITY STUPID IGBOS like YOU who MISCHIEVIOUSLY pretend that there are no Boko Haram sympathisers in PDP.
How many times have a Politician crossed from PDP to APC, then back to PDP and then to APC again and then back to PDP.... just to get elected?

Sense should tell you that this "Islamic Pandemic" is not about the name of the Political party but about the Religious belief of Northerners, whether they are in APC or PDP or Labour Party or even KOWA party sef.

It is in force in any Islamic country or state that has adopted sharia law. The rule is simple: don't criticise or say anything bad about Allah or his prophet Mohammed. It doesn't matter if you are a muslim or not. And it is often abused by many people to settle scores. That's why one should be careful up North because you can easily be lynched upon an alarm.

The bane of Nigeria state is that we are bedeviled with leadership without conscience. How in the world will a leader come out in the open and spew such nonsense. He needs to be castrated alongside the judge that gave such arrant judgement.

He should advise his principal to tackle the issues of insecurity and unemployment facing the land

Thanks...
I use to think the Islamic laws is applied for cases between Muslims alone.
But now, you said whether Muslims or not, it doesn't matter.

Mehn, this is not good... How can someone who is not a Muslim be judged with the Sharia laws, it doesn't make sense.

What makes you so sure your religion is superior to theirs? Because you were born into it?
I can only justify with the trace of the Bible. Abraham wasn't patient when he couldn't give birth to a child. He slept with his house maid and God got angry and told Abraham that his house maid will bear a child and that child shall rise against his household. Which the child was Ishmael.
Abraham gave birth to Isaac his second child. Which the was conceived by his main wife Sarah.
God sent away Ishmael and his mother. That's were Muslim came from.

Isaac spreaded Christianity
Ishmael spreaded Muslim

Where the confusion came was when Ishmael lineage which are the Muslim descendants were not present and did not witness anything about Isaac which when traced it is from the Israelites (Christian) Thats why God doesn't joke with the Israelites up till today no country can defeat them. God even had to kill Pharaoh for the Israelites to be rescued when Pharoah did not let them go. And Jesus Christ came out from the lineage of the Israelites.

The Ishmeal lineage (Muslim) only heard somethings from the Isaac lineage (Christians) and added it to their book. That's why somethings in the Koran is the same with the bible.

The Muslims couldn't give full account of the coming of Jesus Christ because they were not present, they only heard and couldn't give the full details of it. They just added to their book (Koran). And then, the Muslims couldn't believe that Jesus is the messiah and without him, no one can enter the kingdom of God.

During the time of Jesus Christ, Jesus promised the coming of the holy spirit that it will guide us, teach us into all truth.

So when Prophet Mohammed a lineage from Ishmael (Muslim) started preaching the Koran to the muslims. They believed that Prophet was the career of the holy spirit and the last prophet sent by God. They believed he was the one Jesus Christ told them about that will come and teach and guide them. They never knew it was the Holy spirit, Jesus Christ talked about.

The Muslims only heard news but wasn't present. Some of the information they received till date, are 100% wrong.

May God give you room to accept Jesus into your life. He is the Messiah.

Dude, it doesn't matter how you rant about it. Sharia is in force in some Northern States. Just be careful when you go there and use wisdom. You may be lynched like a thief before the police arrive. It is the reality as at today.

Lol. Well, Jesus Christ is the Christian example. He was all about love. He delivered people from being killed by religious bigots.

Not once did Jesus approve the killing of a sinner. Rather, He says (John 8:7) "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..."

Jesus affirmed the old testament in Mathew 5:17 Do not think I came to destroy the law or the Prophets, I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

BTW, Jesus could not have killed anyone. He had no state authority because Bethlehem was under the direct rule of the Roman Empire with Julio Caesar as the King.

Jesus himself was tried for blasphemy and crucified with the authority of Julio Caesar.
