I think you guys should wait til international flights resume fully. And if nothing comes from the embassy after that, then you can do what you want to do...
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by asamwababy: 9:19pm On Aug 11, 2020
The embassy is fully functional.

They re just worried about the delay in commencement of intl flight and how many can duly afford evacuation flights if issued a visa.

You guys should channel your protest to your govt to order resumption of intl flight or at least give a date.

What do you hope to achieve with all these planned protests and actions? Like it or not, Visa is not your right.
Find something else doing while the embassy sort out their issues. Your cases are neither special nor unique.

As much as I am all for people expressing their civic rights, wisdom must be applied too. You are all basing your actions on emotions and hear-says. The embassy has updated their website, follow the instructions and wait patiently, if you cannot do that, I wish you all the best!
What sort of bad energy are you bringing in this forum na.
What do you mean by visa is not your right!
If Germany don't want Nigerians in their country, they wouldn't have given us admission...

You see my comment as negativity? Mhen! some of you need real life check. Pray tell, how is Visa your right?
I have said my own, take it or leave it, your actions wouldn't change a single thing. If the embassy decides to start issuing AD tomorrow, it's not going to be because of some overzealous prospective students, it's going to be because they have accessed the situation and feel they are ready.

But hey, do you if it gives you an iota of hope. cool

Don't you think it is better not to write anything on the issue if you are not going to support their actions.

Stop being emotional! Read what I wrote carefully and try to reason logically.
Admission and Visa issues are entirely different and it has absolutely nothing to do with you being a Nigerian.

Some people said they were told to wait for international flights to resume, has that happened? What exactly are you clamouring for?
On their website, it is clearly stated that you should contact them, have you done that? Why not relax and do something else while they sort things out.

.
But I don’t get your point. So do you expect people to sit and do nothing at all because you are weak to do something? The visa issue didn’t start because of covid-19 if that’s what you think. And again, voicing out will go a long way. There’s no way nothing will change if our voices are heard. And nothing will also change if you don’t do nothing. If you don’t support the movement, just keep mute and don’t discourage others with your negative and ‘typical nigerian mentality’.

Bro it has nothing to do with been emotional, this is a country where one have to be proactive with sensitive issues like these, if not believe you me nothing will be done, Ghana and Benin that are issuing appointment date and visa are also African countries like nigeria affected with Covid
Rather, than sounding despondent, I expect you to make our voice more formidable in this matter.
Please you should reason logically too.

The honest truth is, Germany is not our father-land. They have every right to do whatever.
We should be hopeful for the best while we do our part - which doesn't include a protest.
Its better you channel this energy to the necessary government sector who can come to a reasonable agreement with them.
Any countries' consulate represents the country as a whole, I do hope you know that Germany does not take 'nonesense'

This embassy issue has become sickening. The COVID-19 palava is only an added excuse to what the embassy has been doing.

The truth guys is that they are only trying to limit the number of people they admit into Germany. The last set of lucky students were those who left last Winter. Even at that time, appointment had become quite difficult and a lot of reasons can be adduced for this.

My only advice is that you keep sending mails and making those calls. But be aware that your mails will never get any response or reply. That's their modus operandi. As for having a protest, well, I wouldn't discourage, if you feel that will help your case. However, I don't know how you will pull that off successfully given the type of area the embassy is located. If you have ever been to the embassy then I'm sure you know what I am talking about.

Wish you all good luck, keep pushing. "Na condition make crayfish bend", if only Nigeria good, wetin all men go dey wan go abroad for?

First,I stay positive in every situation and i don’t promote discouragement! But honestly you guys needs to either simultaneously contact your schools and tell them to ask the embassy why they’re not giving students appointment dates?! Because even before covid,i used to come on this thread and see how you guys struggle with visa appointment dates! Schools are just dishing out admissions with no hope for visa! Alot new people here thinks it’s about covid but it’s been going on before covid 19...Totally unfair and a waste of time!
I received that yesterday..maybe its just for cameroon..naija case maybe different.
