I returned from Stuttgart but I couldn’t stay in that house. They closed his room with a police tape as investigations were still ongoing. I just wanted to be outside all the time, because walking past his room always made me sad. About 3-4 months later, someone else was coming to rent his room. That was the first time I saw the room open in months.

Just after celebrating the New Year in January 2018, we lost another one. This one was my friend and he often came to our flat to play. He lived right above our flat. Such a cool German guy. He even bought a piano for the house, just for anyone who wanted to play.
That morning my neighbor went to ask him for a camera stand. He told my neighbor that he had just contracted an STD and was sad.

My neighbor was surprised, wondering why the guy would tell him that information out of nowhere. Hours later, we heard a scream. The guy had jumped from his window on the 4th floor. A lady was standing at the backyard when he fell, she was the one that screamed. His head broke in pieces. The police came and did their thing.

All of us were shocked and sad, because we all loved him. I still have a video of him dancing, on my phone. We had just spent Christmas together, eating and dancing, and after 2 weeks, he committed suicide. We held a vigil for him and put candles outside his door.

I experienced a lot of suicides and I knew some of them personally. The last guy died last year, one week before Christmas. We were not really close but I knew him and his ex-girlfriend. They found him on the train track, but it is still not clear how he died. His friend said he jumped in front of the train, someone else said he fell. But every time I saw him, he looked troubled.

There were other people and most of them were drug related. One guy was visiting Berlin and he had a meeting to attend with a big record label. He took too much drugs and people that saw him the night before, said he was high as a kite. He died in his room and nobody knew for 2 days. Until his friend came to look for him because he was not responding to messages. That was when they found his body.

This is very common in Berlin, especially with the wild life of drugs and sex. It has shaped my life in many ways, because it made me to listen more and be compassionate. You always see the signs. We all saw the signs. But nobody cared enough to help. It was like everyone was waiting for their turn.

I later decided to move out of the house and change my friends. I did not want to be part of the negative energy anymore. I felt it was God telling me to be careful. I’m still a party goer and will always be. But I’m very selective of where I go to and the type of friends I keep. My new friends are simple people with simple lives.

When I moved to the house, I heard of another guy who had died, just months before I moved in. He died in front of the kitchen. They said he drank too much alcohol and choked in his vomit. They didn’t even know he was dead. They walked past him and went to the toilet. They thought he was drunk again and sleeping. Until the next day, he had not woken up. That was when they knew.

A girl died from overdose during sex with her boyfriend, after taking GHB (I think I mentioned that before). Some people also commit suicide out of loneliness. Germany has a culture of “mind your business” and people tend to keep to themselves. Some people are so lonely that they’ve not spoken to anyone in weeks. Some of them get a dog.

Even children don’t visit their parents. They just keep them in a home and don’t see them in months. They don’t even expect their children to take care of them. That’s why some of them always make sure they have pensions and don’t care about getting married or having kids. They probably know they’ll end up in a home when they get old, and a social worker can take care of them.

There is also another drug called Meth. The street name for it in Berlin is Tina or short form “Tee”. It is basically crystal meth. This is the most addictive drug and people have wasted their life savings on this drug. Some guys smoke it, some inject it into their body. Some take it during sex and before they come to sex clubs.

The process of injecting it is called “slamming”. It makes them very horrny and they can have sex for days. It blocks men from ejaculating. If you’re caught taking it in any club in Berlin, they will kick you out and ban you from the club. Some clubs would put your name on the Wall of Shame, so nobody will let you in. Same with GHB.

The after effect is terrible. It leaves people depressed, feeling empty and causes extreme dry skin. Some people even lose their teeth with time. It remains in the blood for a long time after taking it. My German friend that destroyed his flat, I talked about him already. He took this drug as well, and I’m sure that’s what finished his money.

There’s also Poppers. This one is in small bottle, the size of a nail polish. Some people take it for sex and some just take it as an addiction. They sniff it through the nose and it causes a quick head rush and hot sensation in the body. The effect lasts for about 5 minutes. It can cause severe headache or even heart attack. It makes some people laugh uncontrollably.

They buy it as a “video cleaner” in the sex shop. You cannot say you want to buy Poppers, they won’t sell it to you. You must call it “video cleaner” and they’ll understand. That’s the coded word for it.

I appreciate the fact you guys seek info and knowledge but you all seemed to be obessessed with that danielhouston.

On another hand he did a wonderful job but on the other hand what he is doing is encouraging Nigerians and future who could have made a positive change for their motherland leave the country.

You spoke about his command of English i have uncles who went to the US in the 1970s but can still speak Ibo till now.

My sis that has stayed there over 10years speaks Ibo and English fluently so whats the hype he can write English well.

He said there is no black Doc in Germany,my uncle who also left Naija in the 70s,married whites twice is a renowned Surgeon in Germany so know he doesnt know all and he should accept that.

Hope you see the angle am coming from, have in mind his thread was educative and entertaining but everyone is entitled to his or her opinion rightly or wrongly.

Thanks.

Above is rawhumper post on the thread on my profile. His reply was totally irrelevant with what I was seeking. Don't know why he had to bring it up to my knowledge and on my thread. I was dissatisfied with it, so I had to re-post it here where he'll get appropriate response.

Perhaps, I could have simply ignored it. But nay wink, all of you got to know the personalities and inner thoughts of some members here. wink

Actually, the rawhum.. whatever posted the bolded information on his own thread but what he did by posting it here would definitely attract the said guy and he will continue the derailment of the thread.

That is why people are complaining. As for my reply above, it is just a comic way of replying to similar format comment made by someone

Am I the only one who think Op should focus more on the positive aspects of living in Germany/Berlin than frequently narrating his horrendous and negative experiences?

I mean give it a rest man, we've had enough of this rough stories (sex and hardrugs). Your thread is becoming boring and uninteresting

Is boring to you and might not be for others. If is that boring, you can as well decide not to read the thread. After all nobody is paying him for the one he is doing. You are not entitled to anything from him.

I studied Economics (master) and I currently work at Zolando (a fashion and lifestyle company) in Berlin. That’s where most foreigners in Berlin work because you can work with English. Most jobs in Berlin are English speaking and international because there are many start-up companies here. Most people in Berlin work in IT.

I have done menial jobs like working at DHL, Amazon, Volkswagen, Edeka and factory work. The best were Amazon and Volkswagen. Even as a student you can get paid up to €2000 a month working there. They usually offer short term contracts to students and especially in Christmas season when there are high demands.

The first company I worked for was an agency that was recruiting for big factories. The manager was very racist and rude. Most black people working there did not have a choice because they don’t have papers or couldn’t find a better job. The Germans usually put Russians and Polish people as supervisors in those kind of companies because they are racist and can treat black people like slaves. Very hard job to carry heavy equipments. I quit on my first day. All the black guys I saw walking there could not stand straight.

After I quit, I filed a complaint about the company and promised to expose them and get the press involved. I hated the way they treated us. They eventually closed down the agency and reviewed the working conditions.

I also worked at Frankfurt International Airport. They scrutinized me for that job, including requiring a police report from Nigeria because it’s a high level security job. The experience was great, I met lots of travelers and got good tips but the salary was small as a student.

Many blacks here usually do “Ausbildung” (vocational training) that qualifies you to work in a specific field. Most of them work as nurses, at the airport, at a car company, or working with old and disabled people. It mostly the refugees that do this. Some with German passports do it too.

You will not find a black person working in the bank or at the front desk of a hospital. You’ll rarely and almost never see a black doctor. The day I went to a dentist in Berlin and my dentist was a black woman, I cried. She was smiling and crying as well. You rarely even see a black bus or train driver. Only a handful.

Berlin is an art city and most black people here are Black Americans who are artists and on a freelance visa. You’ll also find lots of Black Brits. A lot of black people in Berlin have professional jobs and are well paid to the standard of Berlin. Most working in IT or a start up company.

A lot of blacks here are refugees as well and most of them depend on “Hartz iv” (government benefits). They just sit at home and receive money from government every month. They receive from €600 to €800. It is an obligation of the government to support the non-working class. You’ll need to be refugee or German citizen to qualify for that. Also need to prove you’re unable to work and you’re trying to get a job.

In summary, you can get a professional job after you study. Just don’t sit in one city. Try other cities. I discovered that mostly Africans don’t like to change cities. They become comfortable getting their chicken change instead of moving to a better city where life would be better. Also try to learn German.

Lol, pls let me correct this. Yes, black doctors are scarce but they are a few. I don't know about Berlin though but I can say for sure we are quite a few wink. We just tend to hide a lot and we don't go telling people what we do. Cheers!

Thanks but there’s nothing to correct. The keyword is “rarely” and “almost never”. I did not say there are no black doctors in Germany. If they are scarce and very few, then it constitutes the “rarely”. I appreciate your opinion though.

In other news, the weather is beautiful today and I’m having a beer outside with my colleagues. Some of you have been praying for me or wishing me well and I can feel it. Good things have been happening to me lately and I want you guys to know. So thank you.

Remember I told you guys that I could not rent my own apartment because of my Schufa problem? I found an apartment last week and I signed the contract. I now have my own apartment and don’t have to share with anybody. The Landlord didn’t worry about the Schufa. I have other testimonies but I’m still thinking if I should share them or not. I’ll give it time.

I just want to say, thank you for the kind wishes and for riding with me. Even though I’m not obligated to write these things, we are benefitting from each other in some way. I am sharing, I am healing, you are listening, we are learning, and we are succeeding.
I’ll be out of Germany for a few days but I’ll check in from time to time. I just may not be able to write long texts until I get back.

Next, I’ll talk about my travel story to Germany and my first months here, including my student life. Also about other countries, plus more pictures. Thanks

I don’t even think @drnoel is in Germany. Compared to blacks population in Germany how many are in professional (degree wise) jobs let alone a highly regulated field like medicine.
