No! That's just the label our society uses to force people into wrong marriages triggered by unnecessary external pressure. It goes both ways too. Women feel the pressure more once they clock 30.

Funny enough, most of those that tag people irresponsible for not rushing into marriage, are not so happy in their marriages either... We must start telling ourselves the truth: the issue of marriage is a personal thing and not everyone wants to settle down, at least, not as early as people expect it to happen.

Being married comes with responsibilities which you can't run away from

Being single comes with less responsibilities because you don't have kids yet and no family to cater for and no school fees to pay for

That a man cheats doesn't make him irresponsible, some men cheats and still provide for his family as in, he knows his duties as a man

Marriage in itself (especially monogamy), is an artificial construct of humans when we began to settle down into societies. It is optional. If a kid becomes a consequence of you, pair bonding with a woman, you have a responsibility of taking care of the kid, because it's your genetic material and the kid never asked to be born.

But society shaming because you refused to pay (bride price), for someone else's daughter, and taking care of her (regardless of your age or financial status) is downright stupid and disingenuous.

Use your head. Don't let the society fool you. Do your own things at your own pace. What makes them do it most of the time is herd mentality meaning that since others get married, it's a must that you do regardless of whether it is sensible or not.

Some people might want to have a woman but can't find one, there are many reasons why people aren't married, not all singles are irresponsible.

There is a saying that says misery like the company of misery, meaning "oshi lo fo oshi"

There is this guy at my work place always bragging about how hard it is to be a family guy, this guy will be in is early thirties, he always view us single guy as people who are not responsible because we choose to be single, this same guy will spend all is dine on women, when the month just begin he is the first person to be requesting for loan and borrowing... And me personally anytime I see him I always feel pity for him, this guy as been program by society that you been married is a achievement which in turn make you climb the lens of been responsible...
