Then they would move offshore and just have agents or reps in Nigeria.

It is so easy circumvent all these useless laws.

Government should liberalize tax laws and stop double taxation.
That's what Ghana does to Nigeria, before u know it they relocate and start operating from Ghana

Companies should leave Lagos.
Take your headquarters else where.

The govt in Lagos is running amok and the FG is no where to be seen.

Leave Lagos it's not worth it.

I laugh when people who say ban, tax or eradicate sports betting companies later invest in the stock market. They don't know what's going on.
I will only share this secret, if you know what you are doing, you will thank God they exist.
They trade the market for you, and you invest through them.
They make it easier for the common man to access the market.
I am serious. No joke.

But the law is for them to have a strong capital base, just like the banks. It's a welcome development. It's a financial industry and should be treated as such.

Another one again.

These companies does not make all their money in lagos state alone, there are bettors from other states, why must they be compelled to pay state licensing fee when a federal one is already in place.
What happens if every state collect 20 million naira licensing fee? They will be out of business in no time.

Seriously, Lagos state needs to watch it. They should desist from acting like those agberos and touts (owo mi da) likes and be matured. IGR is good but if every state government tasks people and businesses like Lagos state, I guess the country will be over tasked.

They should just watch it.

It is not by force. They can move out of Lagos. If a State enacts an edict prohibiting Alcohol and Prostitution, any business that is into that line of operations can move into another State where such law does not exist.

Those companies can relocate to those States with favourable tax policies. If Lagos were to be an Independent State, what is happening to Nigerians in South Africa, Ghana and Togo would have been happening here. Naturally, human beings and animals migrate to locations that are more favourable. If Lagos Tax policies are too mild, they can relocate to other States.
