babaolofin:SURE! If previous government since from the 80's have given priority to at least 2 other littoral states with as much attention given to Abuja. Lagos state will not have its present population and there would have been more opportunities and more jobs for Nigerians than what is obtainable now. The nations commercial and industrial development would have been diversified and greater than today. Imagine Lagos state to compel all hailing riders to go through it driving school with its issued drivers permit (not free ooo). What happened to the FRSC who in the constitution have been vested the power to give permit/license to drivers? I can recall when former Gov Babatunde Fashola wanted to implement that vehicle numbers without Lagos state reg no. plying within the state would pay taxes. But was advised to drop it.. Must Lagos govt over tax its residents? Here is where the FG will have to come in, to address the issue of multiple taxation, undermining already federal laws to that effect. Irrespective of political party governing the state, the federal government needs to stand its ground and call A Spade.... A. Spade. |

Nigerians pay all sorts of taxes and levies to state ,local and federal govt, yet they are so docile not to ask what their taxes are being used for. The useless big companies, banks, with professionals who claim to have all the certificates in the world will pay taxes and keep quiet. The useless cursed danfo drivers, market women, petty traders will pay all sorts of levies and won't ask questions or break the head of their LG chairmen. The same evil politicians will come around and everybody go dey hail dem. The youths forming woke up and down will have a certain amount deducted from their salaries every month to pay tax but they will keep quiet and chasing after irrelevant nonsense. |

This law is dead on arrival. The regulation of Companies and issues relating to them is a federal matters states cannot make laws prescribing their share Capital. |

You got to know when to hold 'em, Know when to fold 'em, Know when to walk away, And know when to run. You never count your money When you're sittin' at the table. There'll be time enough for countin' When the dealing's done. P.s there are talking about capital base and not taxes. They are actually protecting you who gambles from being scammed if you ever get lucky. |

Guys the money is not a tax. It won't end up in Tinubu or the government's pocket. It means that's the least they should have before they can operate in Lagos. Though I see no logical reason behind the capitalization ish. |
