Let me help you. grin

I was there when Jonathan commissioned the completed project before handing over to Buhari. Upon assumption of office, Buhari personally covered the whole project work with tarpaulin so that Nigerians wouldn't know about it until now.

In essence, this project was started and completed by Jonathan but Buhari is just taking the glory. The loan Buhari collected from China is in Yusuf's account, that is why Yusuf is the richest man in the world.

Very funny pipu. Una no dey shame?

hahaha, there was a country

Only time I can say a job well done to the fantastically corrupt regime of Buhari.

Now they need to fix the roads and give us 24 hour electricity.

Did PDP give u 5hrs electricity in 16yrs of locust? A journey if 1000yrs starts with a step, we will get there definitely, just tell the children of hate to take it easy.

Two multi-billion dollar contracts have been awarded to the same company, CCNC, responsible for the other projects, to build the Port Harcourt-Kano line and the Lagos - Calabar Atlantic Coast line.

All major towns and cities in the South East are fully covered in the projects, and will boast world-class stations and facilities.

Why do we get erections from optics? Excited Buharists will be cheering ; calling this achievements! Yesterday, Bashir even claimed Burns Boys new album as an achievement for the administration.

These railways lines are economically unviable and cannot even earn the money to repay the loans taken to build them! They had to double the prices of tickets on the Abuja to Kaduna line to try to break even...
As long as the focus is on passenger trains and they ignore connecting the south East with the other cities; you’ll have beautiful nonsense

Modified:

For those devoid of understanding; when I say connect the SE; I am talking about for the purpose of moving what they manufacture. Same goes for connecting other commercial centers across the country to the ports and target markets and not building a railway line from Abuja to Kaduna with beautiful stations everywhere!! This will not pay off the loans!!!!!

Maintainace would be the problem, they better concession it to the private sector because Nigerian have bad attitude to government property. Some people would be planning how to vandalize it now.But massive improvement no doubt ...Oga Ameachi 200Million shekere for you...Oga Buhari can convert it to Naira. If i remembered the early day of this administration when I took a train ride o boy fear go catch you na, but after spending three days from Minna to Lagos I jejeli retired.Don't get me wrong they did attached the oven coach to the first class coach but the rail were bad then but I can see new rail are been build to replace them.My only prayer is that the oven coaches be completely decommissioned ....Hopefully I do visit Minna again and God willing we would enjoy enough peace for me to visit Maiduguri and finally Daura

Very true

Big plus and a much needed project. It is only unfortunate that it may be arriving somewhat late and well overpriced.

Remember it was actually Obasanjo, on his way out, that commissioned the kick-off for this rail project. But my main grouse has always been, why we are often fixated on few projects and we are usually slow in executing/implementing.
Why spend 20 years on a single project, when you can spend same amount of time on multiple.

Nigeria is so underdeveloped that, even if we declare a true state of emergency in all sectors, it will take us not less than 50 years to catch up to an average 2nd world country. I say that with a lot of hope and optimism, others might disagree.

God bless our darling Daddy President Muhammadu Buhari and his amiable vice president Prof Yemi Osinbajo for all they are doing to make our nation better than the 16 years of looting, misrule and corruption.

Imagine riding in these trains coaches........

Mass transit transportation is the way to go. With removal of fuel subsidy, many will find it difficult fuelling cars. It will even help decongest cities like Lagos as one can stay in ibadan and work in lagos
Trains will be the way out. Wish they do more metro train service within major cities. This will also enable payment of loans from China to avoid trouble in future. Trains service will also stress on the roads as they'll also be used for moving containers and fuel tankers that cause havoc from time to time. Let's forget about politics of Jonathan or Buhari in this case as it'll not help pay the loan from China.
Hope they keep it up.

Obasanjo set the tone for Railway revolution in Nigeria, the planning and agreemen was signed and sealed by Obasanjo, subsequent administration are just building on the block, tresearch very well and you'll see.

Kaduna - Abuja and Abuja metro line was handled by GEJ, APC are just trying to take the shine of him. GEJ started the purchase of DMU locomotive.

Lagos - Ibadan could be credited to PMB, but bulk of the background work, like negotiating the loan and some payment of the counterpart fund has been done by GEJ.

Obviously, someone else will take glory of Kano-Kaduna, Ibadan-Lagos, Lagos-calabar rail projects that are still in the pipeline.

It is corruption in 5he form of kickbacks. Atleast half of the budget is going into a politicians pocket. They collect theirs before allowing the project start or simply take everything if nobody asks of it.
