This thread is a sibling of the thread on agritech crowdfunding platforms (linked below). It is birthed as a result of the post further below, which seeks to look beyond agritech platforms that crowdfund their operations to companies that crowdfund (or are trying to crowdfund) their operations in real estate, micro-lending etc. Just like the agritech thread, we are here to share ideas, review the performance of these companies and provide intel that all Nairalanders can use when doing their due diligence into whether or not to invest in these companies' offerings. We are also going to be looking at ONLY non-agritech companies in this thread as we intend to diversify our portfolio with non-agricultural opportunies. Again, read the post below for more info about "why".

Like I said this is a sibling to the agritech thread, so if you come across this thread and decide to follow it, I strongly encourage you to follow that thread too.

Now, let the discussion begin.

I want to suggest that we start looking into other investment platforms that crowdfund for other industries than agriculture. If a lot of us agree, we can start a separate thread to discuss, review and share our experiences with such platforms.

I'm thinking about this because I was inspired by something over the weekend. I was discussing with someone and the person said that one is not managing one's portfolio right if a dip/crash in the performance of one industry or sector of the economy leads to a decline of 50% or more of the value of one's portfolio. I initially didn't agree but when I thought about it later, I saw the wisdom in his words, as I am at risk of suffering significantly if the agritech sector goes under.

Some of the alternatives that I'm looking at are:
- Rentcrowdy.
- Wealth.ng's real estate investment options.

So how many people agree with me and are willing to start a new thread?

Now into the meat of the matter.

The non-agritech crowdfunders that I've come across and that I'm investigating right now are the following:
- Aella: for providing micro/personal loans.
- Rentcrowdy: for providing rent payment loans/advances.
- PayvestCarbon: for powering the micro/personal loans that are provided by Carbon (formerly known as Paylater). They are different from the Payvest owned by Cosmotran that we now call PayvestCosmotran.
- TRJ Company Limited: for providing micro loans.
- Wealth.ng: investing in estate, hand-picked stocks and also some agritech.
- Lendha: most probably for powering micro/personal loans too.

So let's continue cross-examining these companies and share what we find.

99% lending firms and 1% real estate? I don't see anything too enticing in all of it.

Not to put the cart before the horse, the journey is just kicking off - the beginning of something most times does not look attractive, but subsequently rough edges will start smoothing out.

We can only hope for the best.

Well that's the thing, I'm still busy doing investigations. All I can say for now is that some offer up to 26% per annum while I think the lowest I've seen per annum is 18%. I suggest you pick some of them too and investigate them and share what you find so that we can all compare notes on what we found. Thanks.

My candid opinion.
At least that confirms that a key aim of this thread is being focused on: diversification to non-agritech sectors.

Besides these are just the ones I know for now. I'm sure that other Nairalanders will share others too.

I have investment with Carbon Payvest. Their highest ROI is 15.5 per annum as of now.
Will research on others too.

We should investigate on this firm. Investment is from 500k. And it will stay the minimum of 5 months. You will be paid 2% every month.

Thanks for sharing. For me, that 500k price of entry is too high for an opportunity for which I'm only looking to test the waters. That's for ME though. I know there are MEN and WOMEN on NL. So if you or anyone else decides to try them out after proper research, please share with us here what your experience was.

There is an age long investment platform or industry where only those with financial muscle delve into. It has been difficult for ordinary and medium investors to plug into because of fear of loosing their hard earned money. Moreover, it is requires the expertise of those who understand the market to succeed in it. Many have tried to navigate this market on their own but lost their money along the way. It was quite disheartening for those. Why? You cannot learn in two weeks a course that would take 4 years to make you an expert. NO!
But the GOOD NEWS is here!!! You don't need to fear loosing your money anymore because the solution is here. All you need to do is sit back and watch your investment grow daily to maturity and withdraw your money with a 300$ returns. Yes you heard me right, 300% ROI. You don't need to do anything at all. If you are open minded and interested to know more, join our platform>>>https:///GfVuD3fgpZEGXhqVmeOgfv. Reach me on whatsapp>>>07031909448 (Genuine investors only, no scammers pls)
INFORMATION is POWER! Be informed and take a stand.
Expecting to hear from you soon.

Lending firms are high risk investment opportunities..... 26% is not attractive considering the risk involved.
