Ysakaws1:It is okay to defer an admission while your SP is still in process |

philonyx:You can actually choose either of London, Kenya or lagos. As long as your application number and UCI number are accurate. Any office you choose will direct your request to the office handling your application. |

Please I have something bordering me. So I want to share here for your advice. My TRV was declined on March 2020 on the reason of insufficient fund and personal asset. So I contacted a lawyer who advised that I seek for judicial review. I did and the refusal was upturned and I was asked resubmit and updated documents. Now I have got all other documents except the scholarship award update. My problem is that my new start date is 7th September 2020. I am yet to submit the updated documents due to 1. Am yet to get the scholarship award update 2. Am afraid what will happen if I resubmit at the end of the month though am not sure when the updated award letter will be available because of the long process. 3. Should I go ahead and submit the available documents while i wait for the award letter? 4. I feel the start date is too close. The school had earlier said that they will not deferred my admission again because I have exhausted my deferment chances based on several Visa refusals upto 5 times. Please what should I do now? |

Thank you so much, I totally agree with you as regards changing in the middle of my study permit application. I have read the schools policy on refund and they made provision for the transfer of the tuition deposit to another institution when you withdraw. So my plan is to apply to another school and secure a seat then when I get my study permit approval, would notify the school of my withdrawal and CIC of my change of school. Moreso, I checked it out that taking up another program after grad would be expensive because my programme is 21,000 CAD for a 1year PGD and any other one I take up may be in that neighbourhood. Someone posted here an advance Dip in Financial Management @ the Uni. Of Manitoba, the prog is 24,000 CAD and it's a 2 year prog. For me it makes a lot of sense to to change to such program that is gives me 2 years of study and is relatively cheap, than to spend almost 40,000 CAD in Saskpoly. I hope it turns out well and I'm really grateful for the insights all of you are making available to us, I got the confidence to apply for my study permit myself because of you all and I'm still open to learning more so that myself and other JJCs like me can make better informed decision. Thank you again! Eilenora: |

Hi Just Mellow, Lols @ having your mouth wide open with excitement and closing it again! Don't worry, I'd be back to share the good new, and we would all rejoice together. Considered the option of extending like I explained in my previous reply, but it would be just too expensive and yes, I have my eye on thier refund policy and deadline. Thank you so much for your contribution. JustMellow: |

Anamekele:Really sorry to hear about all your refusals. Like you, I am also waiting for my scholarship award update letter from a governmental agency. Let me share my experience. The delay in releasing scholarship letter cost me my admission at the University of Ottawa last year. I got my admission to UBC in February, wrote to them and till date, I am yet to receive my updated letter. In July, I decided to apply for my study permit with the old scholarship letter. This is what I did: 1. I attached a letter of explanation to my proof of funds. I titled it: Letter of explanation (Funds) In it, I gave a detailed explanation on everything that had happened since 2018. I explained that due to COVID-19, the governmental agency closed and they only partially opened recently, hence the delay in getting my updated sponsorship letter. 2. I got a letter of attestation from my employer ( The award is implemented by my employer (a university). In the letter, they assured the embassy that my updated scholarship award letter will eventually be released. They should give me the needed assistance. In addition I submitted: 3. Old scholarship letter 4. Admission letter from Ottawa 5. Emails sent to the government agency 6. Showed proof that the agency had transferred the money into my account. I submitted my application for my two kids and I. Earlier this month, I got my AIP PLEASE NOTE: My immigration adviser from my school advised me against submitting. It was a risk. I did it by faith in God. I prayed and fasted. God did it. I am confident He will perfect that which He has started. I wish you the very best. I hope this helps. |

Good evening people!!! Please I want to ask a question with regard to pending study permit and starting studies in Canada IRCC says for all applications sent in before September 15th, we can start studies pending approval, and the studies will count towards post graduate work permit I applied since June 12, and I'm yet to get a response from them. My semester starts 9th September, and I am thinking of proceeding instead of deferring What do you guys think? The school also says its okay to start before approval comes in. |

onibokun10:I am also going for an 8months at Conestoga college Jan '21... It's not advisable to use an agent. I'm about to submit my SP application just having issues with payment which I'll take care of soon. Usually, after paying the Acceptance Fee, there isn't much to do on the student portal, just get your approved SP then contact your International students advisor. Your major activity starts after paying your first semester fees by October |

Adunola20:I also want to ask if introduction letter from my employer could serve as attestation? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by NairaLuck: 7:12pm On Aug 17, 2020 |
Kentz3:Personally I didn't evaluate my transcript. Although I obtained the official one from my school and told them I was sending it to the US, the did the necessary stamps and interpretation. I think this thing with evaluation may be peculiar with STEM courses |
