Yes it’s fine you can defer no problem would occur as a result of that, but after getting approval you should raise a webform informing IRCC on the update on your application as regards your deferment
What about after you have been granted a visa, can you still defer?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Bestvibe2020: 6:33pm On Aug 18, 2020
Please could someone help me address this..

Bestvibe2020:
Thank you for the prompt response.
Is there an implication if I ask for a deferral after the school resumption, probably wait till sept 15 to see if I get an AIP or an update of any form

Also, prior to this time before submitting my application i tried to defer the admission because of the uncertainty with the VFS office opening but along the line I cancelled that request, will I still be qualified to ask the school for another deferral again now ,at least now I can state study permit delay as my reason for requesting for a deferral

This is a tricky question. Most of my friends in the oil and gas industry moved to Alberta after school. However, some people got a job in Newfoundland as well. I know that the Newfoundland economy is currently not doing well, so that would also have a negative effect on the job market. In my opinion, there are way more jobs in Alberta but that does not mean you cannot get a job in Newfoundland.
I hope this answers your question.

hello, please could you share more light about jobs in NL? preferably for an oil and gas engineer.

Still hopeful on getting my AIP but not just yet... I deferred 4days to my schools deadline for deferment I had to do that so that my refund policy is not affected and still intact should incase things goes sideways even albeit am hopeful that SP application would be a success ...

Interesting!
Would you say people with upfront medicals and has been updated to Medical passed, can still be denied?

Upfront medicals being updated to passed doesn't really mean much. Just keep your fingers crossed.

Yes I think you should wait till 15th to see if you’ll be getting any update on your app.
I feel you can defer anytime provided you have reasons to.
No implication since it was canceled before it was processed.

I have seen so many people give you wonderful suggestions and I completely agree with all they have told you.

Just to add, you can consider Business analysis, even if it is a 1 year PGC and close to graduation, you can try applying for jobs such as customer service analysts, customer support analyst, Global service support analyst and so forth.

If you want 3 years PGWP, you can apply for another 1 year PGC in Data analysis/science.

In these days of organizations employing individuals with T shaped skills, having a combination of Business and Data analysis skills alongside your previous experience in customer service is a big advantage for you.

[/quote]Most people always advise students to go for 16/24 months program so that they can get 3 years PGWP. This will give them enough time to apply for PR. Honestly, 1 year goes by so fast In Canada. I am tempted to say time abroad goes faster than the one in Nigeria.
This does not mean I have not seen people finish 1 year degree programs, get 1 year PGWP and then get their PR. I will give you an example of two different situations
.
Sir, thank you, in respect to the bolded. Would it be wise to go for a year program, and if so, how easily will it be enrolling for another one year program while there?
Thank you

Hi People,

Please, I need your help.

I submitted my Canadian student visa last year November for this year January
{Winter} i notice some errors and fill another and send them through web-form with upfront medical.
so my status is saying WE ARE REVIEWING THE RESULT OF YOUR MEDICAL EXAM school didn't give any updated letter for another due the fact that i already deferred to this year January.
What should i do?
I was thinking of writing them through a web-form asking about my application or I should have another updated admission letter to them as I am waiting for it to come out for next year intake.

Kind regards,
Temitope

My recent comment was specific for only that poster. Situations differ.

Yes, getting a second program is very easy, you can even change schools.

One thing I have realized is, sometimes, having 2 certificates from 2 different programs gives you options.

For example, first 8 months program, you study Logistics and Supply chain management and then you go for a second program, another 8 months, in Business Analysis. When you graduate, you can search for jobs in 2 different fields, which gives you better chances in the job market.

It simply means you can look for jobs in Logistics, supply chain, transportation, supply chain analyst roles, business analyst, business architect, business intelligence, Agile and Scrum roles, data analyst, even project management roles (Business analysis and project management are similar) and so forth.

You can see the multitude of options studying 2 different programs has availed you. It also gives you an opportunity to specialize in a specific industry/field while also having broad knowledge in some other fields.

Also, people take 2 programs so that it avails them the opportunity to switch to another sector. Coming to Canada, career progression is important but when you are inside Canada, that does not count.

I have been in Canada for more than 20 months and I have seen people switch between programs that are not similar inside Canada without problems. As a matter of fact, this happens a lot in colleges. Na normal level for colleges. Reason why I always say, when people get to Canada, they will get clarity

The only challenge is, you will need to apply for another study permit while inside Canada.

Also, there is a myth that Visa officers rarely give people 1 year visa from Nigeria to Canada. I have seen people get 1 year visa's, I am only bringing your attention to what people say.

Just think about your long term goals and be strategic. I wish you all the best.

who is the associate? and what about some who got medical request and passed, but no AIP yet?

Osemigho:
I just confirmed that not everyone is receiving AIP, through an associate. Some with scholarship in Canada are even rejected. For this reason, I believe AIP candidates are steps ahead. Congrats to y’all!!!

Atleast 6months, make sure there are inflows and outflows and not just funds laying in the account.
