Good morning nairalanders,
I have been unable to sleep for the past few weeks now due to the problem I am facing at the moment.
I proposed to my girlfriend that I av dated for two plus years now and she said yes but my family have refused to support my decision to marry her due to her father's reputation of being diabolical and extremely wicked.
The man in question has been separated from my girl and her mom since she was little(abt 5yrs old). My siblings really love the girl as she is very homely and loves my family the way I do, but ever since I proposed to her, talks abt the spiritual consequences of marrying her has been flying about.
Please I need ur advise, thanks

P.s: we are from the same village and u know in an Igbo community, you have to go to her father's to seek for her hand in marriage irregardless of her parents separation

Ok, on a serious note. Don't lose a good girl over a bad father.
Once the marriage is done, you have no business with the father.
Man might not even be a bad man sef, just village gist and rumours that's stuck.

That's if you're one of God's own though, because God has the solution to every problem, so if you're truly one of His own you can ask Him to help you solve it, and I believe He would.

My candid advice.

Don't go and get trapped in a family battle that may take you years to get out of cos you don't even know the foundation or how they started it especially as the father is still fully in service of such fetishes and diabolism.

Are there no other girls from good Christian homes? At least one that both parents are not into such diabolic practice.

I see some are saying " dont lose a good girl'. when the battles starts, you'll not remember whether the girl is good any longer cos by the time you're busy running from one prayers house to the other, you'll be fed up.

Some strong holds are always very strong and difficult to let go when a part is still indirectly connected to their source. Im sure you don't want to live your life fighting battles.

Why are you hungry? Is it because of fasting and praying?
Ezekiel 18:20-22 captures the point that the father shouldn't be faulted based on child and vice versa. Also that the diabolical and extremely wicked will be punished for their own wickedness, but if the diabolical and extremely wicked repent, all their past sins will be forgotten et cetera

The first person you need is JESUS, you need him to direct you to the place where you'll get lasting happiness and peace in whatever you do on this planet {Isaiah 9:7} Many i tell you will get married but they'll end up regretting the very day they decided to marry in the first place.
So it's not just about getting hooked up with a woman you love or the woman who love you, it's about lasting PEACE in your home. Jesus can help you figure it out, and there's nothing anyone can do about it, once Jesus is in your family it is happy happy home!
